Coffee Slasticarna Drina — Restaurant in Jefferson Township

This is an immaculately clean restaurant in a small, intimate setting, that will transport you back to the Old World with all the beautful decorations brought over from Bosnia. I was served by two lovely older women, who immediately made me feel at home. I ordered the cheese "pita," which is a burek, and which came out piping hot. The Turkish coffee was as good as any I've had back home. Tip: Although Turkish coffee is served with no cream (that's the correct way to drink it), I did ask for a bit of milk on the side. Hands down one of the best Bosnian / Balkan Restaurants in America. I’m a truck driver and I have tried food in different restaurants in different cities, but Drina has to be the best by far. I have never had a bad experience with this place and whenever in Chicago I end up going. Selfishly I want to keep this place a secret, but it’s too good to not tell people about. Owned and run by the nicest people, and being inside feels like what I imagine being in a local cafe in Bosna might feel like! The burek is consistently great - especially the krompiruša (potato filled). For the price, you get a huge portion, always freshly made and perfectly seasoned.
