First of all, food is great. Their food is good but their price is not updated at Uber Eats app. Pho Nhu Lan price at the app is 9.xx but I was charged 11.xx . Reason why I’m giving this 1 star is that their SERVICE. IS. BAD. I ordered around 11:40AM thru Ubereats App, estimated time arrival at 12:30NN.. It just kept on adjusting the estimated arrival from 12:30nn to 1PM, to 1:30PM. I called the store at 12:30nn to ask if they have received my order, the woman I talked to kept telling me that she didn’t receive my order and she kept insisting that I got spring roll which I didn’t. I kept telling her I ordered thru ubereats app but she was rude and told me they don’t have it. I was patient enough to look for other options. I tried canceling but there’s no option to cancel. I tried calling the ubereats live customer service but they’re not available. So this restaurant called me again when there was a delivery person on the way, the lady who called me was raising her voice to me already, like she kept telling me again that they don’t have my order and she can’t find my order. I mean, it’s not my fault that you don’t lnow how to use the ubereats app. Why were you raising your voice at your customer???Good thing, the last delivery person who came to her restaurant was able to have them make my order. They only made it when the 3rd delivery person came. Food finally came after 2 HOURS. LOVE THEIR FOOD, it’s my third time ordering their food but first time ordering online. BUT THEN THEIR SERVICE SUCKS. AT LEAST BE POLITE TO YOUR CUSTOMER. BE PROFESSIONAL. DO NOT RAISE YOUR VOICE AND EXPLAIN WELL. LASTLY, LEARN HOW TO USE UBEREATS APP OR OTHER APP COZ YOU SAID YOU DONT KNOW...
Read moreNhu Lan, I wish you could adopt me and be my Vietnamese mother (I'm not Vietnamese but I'm Asian... nobody would know!!). You make the best banh mi in the city and don't try to charge me an arm and a leg for it. All the other banh mi imposters make me so angry! They charge me TWICE what you do and they can't even come to be half as good as your banh mi.
Mama Nhu Lan (can I call you that?), your sandwiches make me happy in the tummy. The hot peppers that you use are crazy spicy but have that slow burn that sneaks up on you. I try to be tough every time and fight the tongue tingling but I end up taking out a little of the pepper at the end of my sandwich. The real reason I do this is because I want to savor the flavors that you've so wonderfully put together between the two halves of the french loaf.
I've noticed that the number of menu items has expanded but I am a creature of habit (for my favorite places) and can't stray far from the #1. I also have noticed that you are open later. This pleases me. Keep up...
Read moreI’ll probably get flamed for this review, but this is coming from a Viet person who is very familiar with banh mi and I’m being objective based on my experience. Been a long time customer of Nhu Lan and this time around you can tell that shrinkflation has hit them like a truck. It’s unfortunate, but the bread is not the same crispy/chewy fresh tasting bread I remember. It was dry throughout and crumbled profusely when I was eating my sandwich. Made quite the mess and very stale tasting.
The cuts of meat are now super thin, and layered very sparingly. Gone are the days of sandwiches loaded with meat and pate. At an average $8 a pop, I’d say go elsewhere.
It took them over 30 minutes to make five sandwiches and I was the only person there. Not sure what is going on, but I hope they are able to get back to their former glory. They used to be head and shoulders above the competition but moving forward, I will bring my business to Ba Le. Their bread is always consistently fresh...
