Was extremely excited to try this place for various reasons. Initially wanted to get the c’momo, but was swayed by the description of the phulaura. I wish I wasn’t. For $10 what I received did not look or taste like what was described, and it wasn’t served with a mint & yogurt sauce. These were hard little flavorless nuggets. On to the shrimp chowmein. Full disclosure, I’ve never had chowmein before, so I had nothing to compare it to. It was basically spaghetti with about 6 shrimps thrown in. Not worth the $16 price tag. I tasted a bit of kwati, which I had considered ordering, but didn’t really care for the flavor. Not sure if there was anything else that I had wished I ordered instead of what I got, but I do wish them luck!

Fantastic place with Himalayan cuisine: there is definitely a grand chef behind the scenes. We started with vegetarian dumplings that seemed too many but were so good we couldn't resist. Then we had 2 variations of curry dishes: lamb and chicken. Both were served with pita bread and rice. The server helped os out with the choice as the options looked a bit disorienting for first-timers and we were not really into hot spices. Don't worry, there is plenty of options for both hot and mild palates. The location is perfect for a date or a dinner with friends. 0lenty of vegetarian option too! The room is filled with pictures of nepal and Himalayan landscapes and people. Happy to have been here: will definitely be back!

Get the Chicken Momo and Chitwan Taas for the first time. Garlic Naan is great too.

This restaurant is exactly why people say Chicago has one of the best food scenes in the world. What appears to be a simple neighborhood corner restaurant is actually an entirely unique and high quality dining experience.

I ordered the lamb curry at the recommendation of the featured reviewer and it wasn’t bad at all but I think that person is incorrect in saying that is what a first timer should order. It just doesn’t tap into the unique cuisine this restaurant offers compared to other places in Chicago. You can get lamb curry anywhere, and theirs is good, but I like trying new food. the Chicken Taas should be your choice to try if you want something different from what you’ve experienced before.

What you shouldn’t skip on at all is the MOMO. This is what brought me in. Dumplings are one of my favorite foods and these homemade Momo are some of the best I have ever had. These are truly some great dumps.

Overall, it is a little pricey, but the atmosphere is relaxed and pleasant. I love the wood finishes. The host and owner was very very helpful and kind. I always appreciate getting some help when in new territory. I am excited to come back and try some more cuisine and get my hands on more of...

Himalayan Sherpa Kitchen here in Chicago is the best Nepali restaurant period. They have the best of the best Nepali foods available. Every thing they prepare is so thoughtful. Eating here feels home. I left Nepal in 2008 but here I am in 2021 feeIing right at home while inside this restaurant. I literally cannot describe all here with my words. You're gonna have to go try what they have to offer to see what I'm saying! I've been to other Nepali restaurants around Chicagoland and Suburbs... But there's none like Himalayan Sherpa Kitchen. The environment inside feels so good. The customer service is so good and on and on and on. I just loved it. I'm taking all my friends and families to eat there. Ordered here via UberEATS after looking at all the great reviews. Was extremely disappointed. Ordered a newari set, and I did not receive any sides that you would expect in a newari set, just a bowl of chicken. I guess spice level is relative and different for each person, but the c momo with lowest spice level was extremely hot/spicy, couldn't eat it. The chowmein however, was good.

Edited to reply: please make it clear on UberEATS that it's newari choela. Not once does it mention it being chhoela and the description mentions "served with roasted beaten rice", so forgive me for expecting what your listing mentioned. For chili momo, I guess you didn't read my review properly. I mentioned spice level is different for each person. I like chili momo, but not if it's inedible.
