"Sandunga Bar: Where Dishonesty Dims the Dining Experience"
Allow me to share an astonishing experience at Sandunga Bar, a place that seems to believe honesty is merely an optional seasoning while imposing forced charges becomes the main course. For anyone who has been living in the Chicago area or in the United States for some time, it becomes quite evident that honest restaurants apply service charges on rare occasions, such as larger parties of six or more, or in vibrant nightclubs where a guaranteed table is provided. However, at Sandunga Bar, it feels like we've stepped into a maze designed to inflate their earnings at the expense of unsuspecting diners.
During my recent visit with my family, we encountered that thorny 18% service charge yet again, even though tables were scattered around without any restrictions, and we were not a grand VIP gathering by any means. The situation took an even more bewildering turn when I decided to express my reservations about the unjustifiable charge. To my surprise, instead of acknowledging the error, the owner chose to react with threats and expelled us from the establishment, demanding that we never return. What a way to treat customers who dare to share their perspective!
While the ambiance of the place does have its charm, the scent of dishonesty permeates everything at Sandunga Bar. It appears they've forgotten the importance of honesty and transparency in their relationship with patrons. Instead of owning up to their mistakes and striving to enhance the customer experience, they dismiss any critique with hostility.
For those contemplating a visit to Sandunga Bar, be prepared to encounter the unexpected maze of forced charges. If you do decide to venture in, keep your eyes wide open and brace yourself for a hostile reaction if you dare to question their tactics.
In conclusion, Sandunga Bar has missed the opportunity to offer an authentic and honest dining experience to its customers. Their desire to maximize profits through forced charges seems to overshadow any trace of integrity. If you seek a genuine and respectful culinary adventure, it's best to explore elsewhere.
As for us, we depart with the assurance that there are many other restaurants in Chicago that value their customers and provide truly satisfying experiences. Until then, we steer clear of the enigmatic labyrinth of Sandunga Bar, where honesty fades into...
Read moreWe had a disappointing experience at this place due to the owner’s lack of respect towards customers. Me and friends and family arrived 30 minutes before this placed closed and this woman apparently she is the owner came to us so rude and disrespectful toward us, she asked us to leave in a really bad manner she doesn’t know how to talk to people she didn’t demonstrate basic customer service skills, and her attitude made the visit uncomfortable. While the establishment may have other positive aspects, I can’t recommend it based on my experience with the owner’s behavior. Don’t waste your time driving for a long time to be treated like that is...
Read moreFirst time visiting and I had an amazing time. The place took a while to get into ambiance but I heard from friends that this is normal. The food was definitely to my liking and I had a great time. Coming around 11 more people started showing up and the dance floor started to look nice. The DJ kept playing awesome music and I had a great time with my friend. If there's a birthday in your group the staff comes around to sing and it's so neat. The staff was always friendly and attentive to us. I'm excited to try this place again in a...
