Karaoke night was an absolute blast, not to mention the quick and kind service that the bartenders provide. I love that they sell bags of snacks too!
Just want to make a quick note to say the that owners âsonâ, Michael or âMikeyâ may make an appearance at karaoke and insist on giving you a hug if he has interest in you. He hugged me after explicit communication that I do not like to be touched, ânoâsâ through him trying to touch and feel on me, he went behind the bar multiple times and seemed to disrupt the flow of the bartender who has served me respectfully many times and moved âmikeyâ away from behind the bar on more than one occasion, the karaoke DJ also asked me if I was ok after seeing a conversation that I had with âMikeyâ
I had multiple friends with me and they asked him not to hug them and he hugged them regardless, when I went to tell the girl he was kissing on that he was forcibly hugging other girls, her friend started telling me off and that she would âgetâ me. Iâve never had an experience like this at this bar and it will not impact my experience the next time, I will just call the cops next time I see an non bassist employee serving behind the bar or harassing customers with their âhugsâ Tysm in advance you can look forward to hearing from me about your âsonâ very soon as this is seemingly as common experience due to the reaction of the customers who were regulars. Iâd be happy to talk in person, please let me know how this can be done.
No stars deducted because to my knowledge the âsonâ does not work there but visits to improve the experience but I can wholeheartedly say he does not, Mikey subtracts from the value you have in this space, especially when he excuses his actions on being a draw for the bar. He made my friends and I uncomfortable as well as...
Read moreMy friend and I just visited loafers, there was no bartender when we arrived because apparently she was on a smoke break. The bar was completely unattended. Other customers helped to call her over. When she came to get us a drink we werenât keen on the card minimum so tried to just pay with money instead to avoid the minimum requirement. She accused us of having fake money and kicked us out. My friend and I just moved to Chicago and really needed a night out after experiencing a series of unfortunate events. This lady, Sam, tall, blonde, old and wrinkly didnât think twice to call our money fake (two black girls). After she accused us of having fake money a man came out to use the bathroom and confirmed that our money was real but regardless she kicked us out. I would not recommend ever going to this bar especially if youâre a POC. And I also hope that Sam understands that you donât always know what people are going through so treat everyone with compassion and kindness. If you didnât believe our money was real, maybe just ask us to do card instead even though thatâs not what we wanted to do we wouldnât done it. Your first thought shouldâve be let me kick out the black girls because they couldnât...
Read moreItâs a shame you canât give zero stars reviews here because this place is definitely deserving of one. I have been to Loafers several times and every single time, Pam has been unnecessarily cruel and rude to every single person in my group, including myself. On several occasions, she has berated us for ordering drinks and screamed at my friend to the point she made her cry. Pam is also constantly drunk behind the bar and I have seen her taking straight shots of liquor before begrudgingly serving us our own drinks. In addition to this, itâs disheartening to see how many reviews mentioned her passive aggressive or straight up racism towards POC who come into the bar. I hope Loafers spends more time training and hiring bartenders who actually care about their job and less time responding to one star reviews defending the one employee ruining this otherwise...
