On May 26th me and my daughter went to IHOP and jenkintown for what we thought we were getting breakfast. First, we waited to be seated for over 20 minutes. We were then seated in the restaurant which is in shambles by the way and needs to be refurbished badly seats across from us and booths with giant holes torn into them. Not not recovered, not taped up. Nothing just left for that and they used them for customers. The waitress took our order alls we ended up with was drinks. We waited for over an hour. The waitress never came back to say that why our food was delayed. We ordered pancakes and eggs. I don't think it takes over an hour. The restaurant was not that crowded for that kind of weight. She never once came back to us and said anything after an hour. I got tired of waiting. Also they kept the doors out both open. It was at very hot humid day and it was getting so humid in there. I heard several customers complaining about that as well. Another customer complained when they tried to seed him with this seat with the hole in it. The place was disgrace. One Booth had the whole end cap torn off of it. I asked for sugar-free syrup when I ordered she brought a filthy bottle. I don't know what was on it. Like I said after an hour we gave up and I did what I never do. I got up and left the restaurant. She was standing there taking another person's order at another table when we were walking out and said where you going your order is up. I said now our order is up. Now you want to talk, talk to us and tell us our order is ready. Where is it? We waited for over an hour and you didn't say a word and no food was brought to the table we're leaving never ever again. Do not go to this this restaurant. You will not be happy by the way. We're not the only patrons that last. There was a couple of elderly gentlemen that were seated right after us and they left before us also never got their food. My daughter watched stack after stack of pancakes. She said being made and sat there yet we were never given anything. So after all the time we left and never had breakfast. I would give this zero Stars because they don't deserve any. There is no reason for a restaurant to be run like that and for the waitress to never come over and even say to you. I'm sorry for the delay or what's going on And why it takes your food over an hour when it's eggs and pancakes and it still isn't on the table. No one ever contacted...
Read moreI’d give 2.5 stars if that was an option. However, I’ll be generous and give 3 stars instead of 2.
So this location is directly off a busy road and there’s nothing wrong with that. Parking was fine for when I went (middle of the day in the middle of the week).
I believe there were all of 4 tables, including myself, that were being waited on the entire time I was there. There was also one waitress/hostess. She was generous and kind. A very lovely lady who was accommodating to all her tables.
However, the service wasn’t the best and the place kind of seemed run down. The salt & pepper shakers on my table were covered in whipped cream, the table was sticky, and it took about 7 minutes after I sat to be asked anything.
The location is kind of like an open floor plan almost. I can see the cooks and they can see me. I can see kind of the inner workings of all the supplies and utensils. Usually there’s a wall between that and the customer. At one point I got a steak omelette with sausage, onions, peppers, ham, and some other things. My order was chocolate chip pancakes and a cheese omelette. The cook asked me while he was chopping it up on the stove whether that was okay that he mistakenly made that and it was fine for me, but I could see how it couldn’t be for someone who may be vegetarian.
Other than the waits and the wrong order (that I liked) being brought out. It was an okay place. Just need a bit of life brought to it. The employees that were around didn’t seem to care to be there or seem to hide that from the customer. I was hearing gossip and the such while eating. Thats understandable and all but I mean try to be a bit more professional.
Lastly, I have AT&T and had absolutely NO SERVICE. And the Wi-Fi didn’t work either. The password is “pancakes” by the way. I would eat here again if I was in a rush and wanted breakfast food at any time, but I’d drive further to another one if I...
Read moreThis place has gone down in the last few years, I must admit. The last time I went before this is when they lifted Covid restrictions, and everything was good. Now it's looking like one of those hole in a wall diners that's a hit or miss.
The waitress, Jasmine, was exceptional. Everything about her was a vibe 😊. Now the food, on the other hand, and the menu is very outdated. My daughter wanted chicken strip kids meal with applesauce, and that's no longer an option because it was for some other promo they had a while ago. My granddaughter wanted a milkshake, and they didn't have that either. Being that we're Muslim, Jasmine did share with us that the hash browns are cooked next to the pork products, which I was never made aware of but grateful that she told us. Not only do I not easy pork due to religious reasons, I haven't eaten it since we were 9 because it was making us sick. (I wasn't always Muslim,I converted at age 21).
I ordered a hot chicken strip grilled cheese, basically on toasted bread with onion rings. The onion rings looked good but were far from it. They were hard, not crunchy, and they tasted like they came off someone else's plate soggy and refried to regain its crispness. They sandwich was OK but the chicken itself also tasted like they were sitting under a light longer than they should have. The coffee wasn't pleasant, and it cost $3 and some change, which I don't even think was 8oz.
My grandson got chicken and waffles, and they were good outside of the chicken being a little dry. We did get a cheeseburger that wasn't ours, but we were told to keep it, and needless to say, that was the best part of the food that we didn't order.
The juice Jasmine made was a strawberry lemonade and absolutely delicious. Everyone else's food was ok, but I wouldn't choose them again unless a little cleaning up or remodeling is done and the food is back to its good taste...
