Alessio's Cafe — Restaurant in Jersey City

Been here multiple times and to both locations. Always an issue. I’m officially done with giving them chances. Today, they left out bacon in my sandwich that came with bacon (Venezia). My bf’s chicken was very tough and his sandwich was hard to eat. Didn’t make sense to put this breaded chicken (that looked burnt) on sourdough… Guy working the counter wasn’t friendly at all. We said thank you and have a nice day on our way out, and he didn’t even respond? Mind you, these 2 sandwiches plus 1 Diet Coke was $39…… HOW????

In the past, I’ve had to wait 30 mins just for 1 wrap. They were severely understaffed that day; it was a Sunday, naturally it will be busier, naturally you should hire more staff. I’ve also found their wraps to be super small and they don’t come with anything on the side. For $15 I expect at least a small container of quinoa or some sort of side?? The coffee is also trash. Pastries look dry, never ordered and never will.

For $30 (less than here), I could go to Brooklyn and get 2 delicious Italian heroes from the famous B&A with actually solid ingredients. Even Vito’s or Fiore’s in downtown Hoboken….

Not coming back for a long time. Not worth the hype....

Beware ordering salads to-go here!!

My gf and I have been to Alessio’s before and gotten the Cobb salad to much of our satisfaction. The first time we had it we fell in love with it. The salad was so big that two people could’ve easily eaten it , plenty of chopped up lettuce, avocado, bacon, tomatoes, cheese and chicken.

We were so happy with our order we decided to order two salads to-go. Once we received our order we were disappointed. The size of the container is so small and not to even say it wasn’t even full. The lettuce is not chopped, it looks like they sliced a quarter of a quarter of a tomato, two tiny slices of avocado. I mean look at the pictures!

Unfortunately, we spent $40 dollars on two salads and the quality we received on the to-go order falls short compared to dining in.

Try to dine in if you can to prevent being disappointed by the portion sizes once you...

I ordered an egg sandwich with meat as follows. Egg mozzarella and sausage. It is listed as 6.95. when i looked at the charge it came out to 9.60 so i asked why. They said for the fresh mozzarella. I never asked for fresh mozzarella they just added it to my order when I did not ask for it. They don't have the price of it on the menu either.

Always ask for a receipt with any purchase so you know what you are paying for and to make sure they are not upselling without your knowledge.

update 5/25/25: it seems the prices on some items on the screen are different then the one on the paper menu and what is rung up on the register. They should really keep the display updated or turn it off. Consistency would be nice.

I like the place but i should be able to walk in and order without having to investigate prices or the accuracy of the order. I would rather go to the...
