El Pollo Supremo - Jersey City — Restaurant in Jersey City

I used to love this place and been eating there for the last 3 years and that’s the only reason I’m giving it a two stars. On Tuesday July 17, 2018, I ate there on my lunch break around noon. Around 3pm I kept having non stop diarrhea. I got food poisoning from them because that was the only meal I ate that day. I’ve never got food poisoning in my life so when I start looking up the symptoms, I knew it was food poisoning. Frequent diarrhea, nausea, and fever. Today is Thursday and my body is still processing and fighting it. I even made a stop on the same day at the restaurant on my way to my next job appointment because I couldn’t hold it and my next job was in the area. They didn’t even have toilet papers and had to get creative by take off my under clothes wife beater and use it as such, then discard it in their trash bag. Before I sat and did my business, I checked and knew they didn’t have toilet paper but I couldn’t hold it. When you have diarrhea and it’s coming with a vengeance, there’s no such thing as holding it for a few minutes. I know that was too much information, but it is what it is. When people serve you bad food that they know are contaminated, they need to be held responsible. People need to know so they don’t have to go through with what you went through. All I was thinking about was that mother who stop at a gas station store, ate some bad nachos cheese and I think she died or was in a coma for weeks. I’m not eating there again. i normaly order from this place on and off, their food is amazing BUT their dilivery service really sucks. Im very honest. ( some of you guys might think why order from them if i dont like their service.) It's because i never thought they were ever bad until tonight. The first time i experience bad service is whent the dilivery driver never came to my APT, and had kept calling me saying ill be there and never came, after an 1/2hours. The second time is when the company charged my card twice and Also forgot my second meal i originaly had paid for and had to wait another 45 minutes for it to come and thats when my bank notified me that the same company was using my card.(I never got the third order if i payed for it.) And lastly is today, it took an order 1hour and 20 minutes for a hot meal but its cold, and the picture that i provided is their presentation to me. And for your information Christ Hospital is not even far from this reasturant. So idk whats the hold up. All the other Pollo Supremos i give you around of Applause because i never had a bad service with you...

Never ordering from this place again. My family and I have been customers for years but today we placed an order for pick up. Upon arriving home I opened up the container with the chicken and there were two long black hairs intertwined in the chicken. So disgusting. I called the restaurant and was told to bring the food back and speak to the manager. My husband brought the food back and when he arrived, he was met by sarcasm from a manager there. He tried to insinuate that maybe we had put the hairs in the food. I’m sorry but why would I waste my time driving 20 mins out to come home, just to plant hairs in my food, and bring it back? If people actually do this then they have no decency but the fact that rather than apologize and be professional about it, the manager tried to make it seem like we were being deceitful is beyond repulsive. Unprofessional people like that shouldn’t hold “manager” positions. We will definitely not be ordering from here again and will tell all our extended family to stay away !
