Sabor A Peru — Restaurant in Jersey City

The service can use some improvement I walked in asked for a table for two I was told to choose a table and have a seat which we did and they completely forgot about us 🤦🏻‍♀️. We politely reminded them we were there even though it is a small place. They did apologize and took our orders, the food arrived in a timely fashion but we then had to ask for eating utensils. I proceeded to put the first bite in my mouth when they put the bill on the table 🤷🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️. We politely asked if they could hold on to it until we were done which they apologized and said the person was new. The food was amazzzzzing have no complaints the chef deserves 10 stars I drool thinking about it cant wait to go back from a judgy picky eater its a go. We complimented the chef got the bill put the credit card recieved a slip and left. Half a block down someone is running and yelling for us to come back 🤦🏻‍♀️ they never processed the payment and we have to walk back over to the restaurant to make the payment 🤦🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️. The first time I ate here was a few days after their initial opening. The owner had her son and daughter working there. The place has now been opened several months. At first the food was really tasty and the portions pretty much matched the price. I go once to twice a week and I have bought family and friends with me. The thing I've noticed is each week the portions were getting less and less. The final straw was this Friday 10/29. I ordered a Churrasco Montado. When the waitress bought the plate to the table I had 3 small pieces of maduros, cold rice, the Skirt Steak was literally 4 inches by maybe 1-1/2. Counted 9 pieces of French Fries and the eggs where over fried. I asked the lady if this was the actual plate she looked at me with some what of an embarrassed face, shrugged her shoulders and walked away.

Let just say that the young kid with the pony tail and older lady with the glasses are very attentive. I've always tipped them 20%. I will kind of miss them because I will never be going back yo this...

The food was OK but service and order management were awful, and they did nothing to remediate or compensate. Bottom line: it took us 2 hours to get our food. But it's even worse than that: Our order was placed at 7:03 and pick-up time was 7:23. We show up at 7:35 and after waiting a while, they admit they have not even started the order. They ask us to wait for another 20 minutes. We go for a walk and come back 25 minutes after. It's only after waiting another 20 minutes or so that they say (again) they haven't even started the order and they need another 25 minutes. At this point they offer to deliver it when done (yay, thanks, I'm only a 5-minute walk away...) and it STILL took them 45 minutes to arrive, past 9pm at that point. They did not offer any kind of compensation, partial refund (not even the tip), a complimentary "something, whatever" or even a drink while we waited there. So even though the food was OK, I would not order from this place again. They have zero business and customer...
