I rarely leave reviews, but Call Me Mia genuinely deserves the love. From the second I walked in, I felt this immediate warmth—not just from the cozy lighting and exposed brick, but from the staff. Everyone behind the counter (owners included) was so welcoming, like they were actually happy to have you there, not just going through the motions. There’s something really genuine about the energy here.
The space itself is stunning. It’s got this perfect mix of old-school charm and clean modern design. Nothing feels forced or fake—just real, authentic pieces that tell a story. The exposed brick is left raw in the best way, the furniture feels handpicked, and everything just flows. It’s the kind of place that makes you want to sit and stay a while, maybe even bring a book or catch up with a friend.
The menu keeps it simple, which I loved. None of those over-complicated, trying too hard drink combos. Just great coffee, made with care, and a few fun twists that feel thoughtful rather than trendy. In a world where so many places try to be “different,” Call Me Mia actually is, without shoving it in your face. It’s hip without the ego, and that’s rare.
And seriously… the name? Call Me Mia. C’mon. It just works. One visit and you...
Read moreI know they’ve recently opened but we had a disappointing first visit here. Decor and vibe are lovely, but the coffee was rough. The black drip coffee was passable, but unfortunately the hot cappuccino was not. I felt bad for the young barista they had working the front, as she did not seem to know what she was doing or have a lot of confidence. How you pour the milk deeply affects the quality of the drink, and this was your average dump and handover experience.
We will give them the benefit of the doubt, try them one more time in a number of weeks, and I will update my review accordingly. With no lack of solid coffee shops in the area, it would be wonderful to see them hire or train their team to do justice to the beans and add a little more care in preparation to...
Read moreA standout coffee spot in downtown Jersey City featuring vintage decor like classic phones and a retro TV that add character. It’s a surprisingly family-friendly environment, with toys for the kids so you can actually enjoy your coffee.
I ordered a cappuccino with oat milk. It was smooth and strong, just how it should be. There’s ample seating if you want to stay and relax, but it’s also convenient for grabbing coffee and pastries to go. One of the most interesting touches is a bookshelf that doubles as a hidden door, revealing a salon and tanning space in the back. A clever and unexpected detail. Highly recommend for anyone looking for...
