We became a regular since this new location was open. And to be fair, the restaurant/ cafe is well maintained and we had enjoyed some of the options in their menu. However, I do believe the staff can be better trained to understand what means customer service and owning their own mistakes - what happened today is not a “big deal” but it somehow has been a big turnoff for us to come back. When ordering in front of the counter, my husband got a regular milk cappuccino with food and I got oat milk cappuccino with pastry. The food came with one coffee in a few minutes and the second coffee NEVER came even when we finished the food. My husband asked the coffee and the guy who put the order for us seemed to be already aware he Only put one coffee for us. Fine - we waited more and the barista made us the oat milk cappuccino (and they realized the order they put in was also oat milk so my husband didn’t get a regular milk). I was finally able to sip my oat milk cappuccino, and the guy who missed the order showed up to us, asked to charge us for his missing order in the first place and also included the additional oat milk charge, he left us the credit card reader immediately and we didn’t even get a chance to argue.
My husband didn’t want to bother arguing with him and just paid it - left a weird taste for the whole Saturday morning experience for a supposedly relaxing dining.
To the owner- see the photo (not showing the face of the guy but want to demonstrate this is real feedback), staff needs to own their own mistake, missing order plus wrong us and still charged (even overcharged) the customers. Even Starbucks gave for free if they made a mistake. You are not going to do well with all the competing businesses in this...
Read moreGlad when new options come to Jersey City and in particular the Powerhouse Arts district but i feel like it didn't hit the hype. Was the food tasty? yes. Was the service good? well it was really slow but its only been a couple of days since it opened. Understandably working out the kinks and getting their processes and systems working. I waited 24 min for a 2 lunch sandwich take out order. No big deal. Where the rubber hits the road is portion size. Daily Provisions? More like Daily Rations. Their lunch sandwiches are right sized if you are dieting. You'll want a bag of chips or a side but you probably don't want to get a side because they are $9. All in all, if you get a sandwich, side, and a beverage, your lunch will be $32+ Welcome to Manhattan... oops wait this is Jersey City not...
Read moreUPDATED review. Unfortunately, I have to change my 5 star review. The place has gone downhill in just a few months. Every time I order a sandwich, it comes out completely burnt to the point where it’s inedible. On top of that, there are always several dogs inside, regardless of when you visit. That might be fine for some, but if you have a dog allergy, be warned—this place is more “dog-friendly” than people-friendly. And it’s actually illegal in JC. But they don’t care. And in case they try to deny it, I have photos: staff petting dogs, and even a dog with its front paws up on the counter where they keep the donuts and cookies. It’s unsanitary and...
