Rui Tea — Restaurant in Jersey City

So after a wonderful dinner I was looking for something sweet but not heavy. I found this place and immediately love the menu. All drink ingredients are fresh fruit or housemade with little syrup or powder stuff. Fresh taro & purple yam mixture for milk tea?!? Come on!!

Upon entry, I noted that the place was clean and bright. Little quaint, tucked away around the corner of Provost Street. Immediately I was undecided due to too many choices I love. We were greeted immediately by the cashier/barista. She was helpful to answer our questions since it was our first time there.

Since my friend never had real taro or purple yam, the cashier were generous and gave her tasting of both ingredients. She preferred people yam... Taro all the way for me. Lol

I end up ordering the cheese foam mango sago (tapioca, not boba) slush with 70% sugar. In the mood for fruity. So.... Perfect amount of sugar with the savory from the cheese foam. Nice sips with bits of mango, sago, with the lightly tang foam all swirl in my mouth. Highly recommended.

The place is small but since it's Monday night we were able to sit at a little booth table & high chairs and hung for about an hour. It's a take out/to go place but they also have outdoor seating that would be great on a warm afternoon.

When I'm in Jersey City again, I'll make sure to stop by this place again for quality Asian bubble drink. Definitely going to have the taro milk with...

ive only ordered on uber eats from here and i love the flavor/taste of their drinks but they ALWAYS put so much ice you get 30% drink 70% ice no matter if you choose regular ice or less ice. It's almost $10 for 1 drink you'd think there would be more drink.

--- reply for owner hello! thank you for responding back! usually, i order the watermelon bobo and get less ice since there is an option to change it. yet there is always so much ice in it even though i picked less ice. however, for the mango bobo drink, there was no option to change the ice level. the drink is good and i have no issue with it but the price is very expensive to receive so much ice whether it's less ice or not. after looking back on more reviews left by others i can see i'm not the only one annoyed by the amount of ice in the watermelon bobo drink as well as a few others drink scattered in the reviews. as for the thai tea i had no issues with it. actually, the only drink ive ordered with an appropriate amount of ice. but thanks again for your reply and clarification...

Even though I arrived close to closing time, the staff was still incredibly friendly and accommodating. They took my order with a smile, and even gave me a free brown sugar bubble tea to try. And let me tell you, it was absolutely delicious.

Overall, I would highly recommend Rui Tea to anyone looking for the best bubble tea in Jersey City. The drinks are fantastic, and the customer service is top-notch. And even if you happen to stop by close to closing time, you can still expect to be treated with kindness...
