The Belgian Plate by @waffleitandco — Restaurant in Jersey City

Diabolical treatment. My friend, who just came from an x-ray appointment and was already in a desolate mood, had joined my other friend and I for some breakfast before school. We found this place on google maps, and arrived around 9. First mistake. The prices didn't seem too horrid for the quality of the food we saw online, so we ordered and watched our food be made. Second mistake. For the outrageous price of 10 dollars each, we received a waffle no bigger than my palm and a crepe that resembled the ones I received from Dunkin for 6 dollars. Already upset, we said our thank yous and found a seat to 'enjoy' was was supposedly a 'meal'. Third mistake, Should've gotten a refund. The moment the crepes and waffles entered our mouths, every mistake we'd ever made flashed through our minds, and to our despair, still didn't compare to the mistake me made ordering from this place. The waffles were not only small but as plain as a Southern white girl's playlist, and the crepes had less nutella than my lipgloss tube. As I'm typing this, my crepe is staring back at me, almost as if it is apologizing. We will NOT be coming back...

This place is located inside a shopping complex which is in Jersey City NJ It is a nice little place, walkable from either Newport or Exchange place depending on your time and if you want to walk around. We went there on a weekend evening and wasn't much busy which is good. The staff was friendly and explained everything nicely what we asked...

I went to the Hamilton Park location (once it’s added to google I’ll leave a review there too!) and am so thrilled that an authentic gaufre (waffle) place is right down the block from me! I grew up in Belgium and these are the best Liège waffles I’ve had outside of Belgium. Get it plain - no toppings - for the truly authentic experience....
