First and foremost, the location is absolutely amazing—perfectly situated and easily accessible. The space itself is incredibly spacious, offering plenty of room to relax, work, or socialize. The ambiance is delightful, with a cozy yet vibrant atmosphere that strikes the right balance between lively and calming. The background music adds to the charm, creating a soothing environment that enhances the overall experience.
The staff deserves a special mention—they were incredibly warm, friendly, and welcoming, making me feel right at home from the moment I walked in. Their attentiveness and genuine hospitality truly stood out.
Now, onto the food and drinks: the iced vanilla latte was an absolute 10/10! Smooth, rich, and perfectly balanced, it was a treat for the taste buds. And the sausage, egg, and cheese breakfast sandwich? Simply out of this world! Every bite was a burst of flavor, and it’s easily a 10/10 as well.
Whether you're looking for a spot to work remotely, catch up with friends, or simply lounge with a great cup of coffee, this place comes highly recommended. It’s the perfect blend of comfort, quality, and charm—a must-visit for coffee lovers and...
Read moreI was (and still am) excited that there is a new "third space" open in this neighborhood... Particularly one with such an extensive & exciting coffee menu, food, and co-working. The food is reasonably priced... And there's a ton that I would eat on the menu. Co-working is essentially the apartment building lobby + some furniture... Which was expected as that's what the space is. What prompted me to leave 3 stars instead of 4 or 5 is that while the coffee menu is full of interesting and exciting ingredients, made with actual espresso and cold brew, I was not asked if I wanted my coffee for here or to-go. I ordered an "old fashioned" cold brew coffee - made with bitters, orange and cherry garnish. Sounds really interesting, and justifies the $7 price tag. I ordered it "for here," but it was served to me in a plastic cup. Because this is a very interesting (and expensive) coffee drink, the drinkware should match if people are staying to cowork, etc.. I was expecting a rocks glass, not a plastic to-go cup. Just a customer experience tip - expectations should match reality. Get separate glassware for people staying and disposable for to-go and I'd bump...
Read moreThe Cafe was exactly what Journal Square needed to showcase just how up and coming it is. Everyone that I know in south Jersey has raved about Almost Home for years so I was ELATED to hear we would have our own cafe here! The absolutely beautoful decor and ambiance that takes over the lobby makes you forget you're in Jersey City. I spend many times a week working from here or just stopping by on my way to work to boost my mood. Richie in particular has been the kindest, most welcoming, thoughtful, and professional barista - which is hard to come across in a city of so many cafes. Whether I need caffeine or just a place to decompress, the cafe offers just that. The team couldn't be more efficient amidst the many orders they receive at once. Aside from the incredible service and food (get the spinach and feta croissant in the month of February... you will NOT regret it), the personal touch points of affirmations on the drink lids set this cafe apart from the mass production that you find in corporate coffee shops. It may seem smal, but to many customers it can truly turn our day around.
