This restaurant is hidden near John's Creek Technology Park and a bank, so look carefully between the trees.
The restaurant inside is spacious and beautiful. They even have an area for parties on the left side of the restaurant.
The menu is several pages, but has no pictures. I wish it had some photos, because it was so hard to decide on what to order.
Several menu items have the hot red chili pepper symbol next to them, so you may have to ask if they can make it mild for you. The dishes we ordered were not spicy at all.
We ordered the cold dish jelly fish radish vermicelli (very good but not a lot of jelly fish at all).
We also ordered the black pepper beef, which also had mushrooms and red onions, but no black pepper (strange). It was good though. Portion size for the price was not a lot. You are paying more than typical dinner portion price, but only got enough food for two people.
We also ordered the eggplant dish, which was good and arrive still sizzling on the dish. I like how they left the eggplant in large steak pieces. They put a lot of chunky ginger pieces in this dish.
You have to pay $1 per bowl of rice! Outrageous! Talk about portion control. If you are ordering a lot of spicy dishes, one bowl of rice may not be enough for you...or drink lots of water.
I would only go to this place on special occasions, because it is more pricey than most family style Chinese restaurants. Each dish was $15-$20 for lunch!
Food was delicious however. Service was good too. Definitely go here if you want to try something unique. Small food portions...
Read moreUpdate: We regularly go here for lunch, but the day-of I called to make sure they were open because we tried to go there in Dec and the doors were locked- No note on door as to why or when it would reopen. The woman who answered the phone was quite unfriendly, as if I was bothering her with my question. Well, guess it was the same person who greeted, and waited on us, because she was borderline rude to us throughout our lunch...again, you could tell she wanted to be anywhere else but there helping anyone...from the lukewarm greeting to when we paid the bill. The regular lady who used to greet us was one of the main factors in why I always wanted to come back. Where was she?! Feeling like you are not welcome is a deathnail for any business. Another change: country music was playing! Really? I can go so many places here in the south and that would be standard. I can't stand country music...Where was the cool, modern, relaxing & fun music usually played that was always a key aspect that made this restaurant so enjoyable to me? Consistency is very important to solidify your brand. People rely on things that they like about a place remaining the same... ORIGINAL POST, made in mid-2023: Cool music, clean, lovely decor, and super-friendly lady that always greets me! This is my #1 lunch destination when I'm in...
Read moreThe Szechuan flavors take your mouth for a ride compared to Chinese takeout, as many of the dishes are dusted with tongue-numbing Szechuan peppercorn. We started off with the minced fish and cilantro soup, which was a cloudy starchy soup, that was under seasoned. It needed a dash of vinegar and soy sauce. For our appetizer, we got a cold collection of beef tendons in chili sauce and the jellyfish cucumber salad. They were both refreshing, the former spicy and the latter acidic. For the entrees, keep in mind that you can ask to tame down the heat, but we got everything the way it was recommended. The mapo tofu was OK, it lacked the spice and zing that I really enjoy from the Duluth location. I loved the dried fried eggplant, twice cooked pork, fish fillet with sizzling rice, and the pan fried green beans. The beef chow fun was much better at this Johns Creek location. We also got the shredded beef with peppers, where they use green chili peppers instead of bell peppers, and while it had potential, I didn't enjoy it that much. The restaurant inside is much bigger than Duluth, with banquet rooms. I'll prob just go back to Duluth because I love...
