If I could give this place negative stars I would. I will say, however, that our waiter was very nice and did his job well. Beyond that point, however this restaurant needs some serious attention. We called ahead to check and see how busy the restaurant was before we walked in since we had heard that it was a nice place. Ashley answered and advised us that no booths were available, but there was no waiting as they had tables available. When we got there we were greeted and seated immediately. The waiter, Ross (I think) introduced himself and took our drink order. We reviewed the menu and we put in our orders. I put in an order for a ribeye medium, mushrooms, and baked potato. My wife put in for crab cakes and a potato. We then proceeded to wait for 45 minutes. The waiter brought us crackers and butter as we waited. Then he finally tells us that the chef just informed him that the crab cakes were no longer available due to a mishap in the kitchen a little while ago. No big deal we said. My wife then orders the sauteed scallops with veggies and rice pilaf. The manager came around after a another wait and asked if our meal had been good. We then advised him we had been waiting a long time for our food. He then goes to check on our food and eventually brings out our food himself. The waiter apologized for the long wait and the manager offered us free cake which I did take. Again, while the wait was far too long, it was still a fairly positive experience at this point. My wife's scallops however were under cooked as well as her rice. She had scallops that were cooked around the edges, but not cooked in the middle. I had ordered a ribeye and instead got a close to rare prime rib. The food in short was terrible. The prime rib had no flavor. This whole time, however, the manager acted more nonchalant about our experience and did not follow up after we had been served our meal. After being there for two hours, we arrived around 7pm and didn't leave until 8:50pm, we were highly disappointed with paying $60+ dollars for one of the worst meals we had. While the staff did some positive things it did not make up for the long wait and terrible food. I called after we had left to express this to the manager and to express my displeasure in our overall experience. I felt that it was poor management, not poor wait staff that was the main issue with the kitchen service etc. While he offered a discount, which we refused, he did not want to admit that this was not a good experience for us. I expressed that waiting hours for food, getting terrible food, and then paying $60+ dollars for said service was not a good experience for anyone experiencing it. The main reason I called was to make him aware of the issues so that he, as the manager, could prevent such issues in the future. I felt as if he were in denial about the whole thing though. We probably...
Read moreI'll start my saying I wish I could give this place a ZERO rating because this is what it truly deserves. This by far was the worst customer service I've ever encountered! Actually the worst restaurant experience ever! The food was highly expensive and subpar in quality. We attended a banquet and were given a choice of 3 entrees. 6oz SIrloin ($37), chicken breast ($27), salmon($40). Or 3 "optional appetizers". We chose artichoke dip because we weren't hungry but was told we could not buy an appetizer unless we purchase an entree. We expressed we didnt want an entree and neither the waiter, nor a manager ever came to our table to try to help, with the exception of dropping off a basket of rolls that were stale and hard and filled our water. The rolls were completely inedible. Tasted like they had sat out for a week. This was the first time in my entire life that we entered a restaurant to eat and left having only drank water and the staff really didnt give a damn. Oh...only drank water because our choices to drink were water or tea. When the food arrived to those who were given an opportunity to order it looked like something prepared at Waffle House. The sirloin was actually about the size of 2 sausage patties. This place is the biggest joke of a steakhouse! It needs to be shut down or at the least, it could really use a good health department check! The tables were dirty and the bathrooms were comparable to a truck stop bathroom! For those who think I'm ranting or just mad....go check it out.....you'll find I'm telling the truth. Rude staff, extremely overpriced, subpar food, and freaking nasty! First and last for me. Save your money and go to Longhorns...you'll be alot happier you did and prob leave with more money in...
Read moreMy wife and I had never eaten here and wanted to try it because we usually want steak when we go out of town and didn't want the usual (i.e. Longhorn's, Logan's, Shiloh's, Texas RH), plus they advertised "aged steaks." Everything about this restaurant was just fine: Great service, diverse menu, fine (antiquated) atmosphere (as far as atmosphere goes this is not the place for a younger couple, this place gears itself toward the senior crowds - it was opened in the 30's I think and it never let go). The steaks, however, were awful. I had the rib eye and my wife had the sirloin - each was about $5-6 dollars above what you would pay at the afore mentioned restaurants except for Longhorn's. Both steaks had zero, and I mean ZERO, flavor. I've had aged steaks before which are very rich and beefy even without any seasoning. These were not aged steaks. my wife, who loves sirloin, couldn't finish hers. The steaks tasted like they were freshly cut and cooked in a pan without being spiced in the least. I ate mine because technically there wasn't anything wrong with it so we were going to pay for it regardless and we weren't going anywhere else. I could have given this place 2-3 stars if I factored in the other dining aspects but when I go to a steakhouse I go for steak, It's hard for me to add those extra stars when you advertise yourself as "famous for steak" and you don't deliver. We won't...
