Steak 'n Shake — Restaurant in Jonesboro

BEST BURGER I'VE HAD IN A LONG TIME!!!! We're from Texas and Whataburger reigns...here in Jonesboro, Arkansas Steak 'n Shake reigns!!!! We ate here yesterday inside with full fantastic service! Our server was OUTSTANDING! Everyone working at 3:00 pm was above and beyond friendly and professional. The restaurant is super clean which is a HUGE thing with me. Ok....now to the food. Not only did we eat there yesterday, we went through the drive-thru this morning on our way back to Texas. Again, fantastic service!!!! We are so impressed! Yesterday I had the Cajun Burger (added pickles and onions with extra Cajun sauce on the side), Cajun fries and a Coke. Spicy but not too spicy, juicy beef, fresh veggies (on the side) and perfect french fries. My husband had the double steak burger with cheese all the way, fries and Coke and our son had the single with cheese, cheese fries and an orange Fanta. The guys both got a milkshake topped with cream and a marischino (spelling?) cherry. Today, the guys ordered the same as yesterday. I ordered the Garlic Steak Burger with onions, pickles, bacon and extra garlic spread, fries with their signature seasoning and a Coke. I thought yesterday's burger blew my taste buds into a New Orleans Mardi Gras....the Garlic Steak Burger made my mouth explode into the BEST dance party that anyone has ever experienced! Every table was dirty. They weren’t even busy when we got there. The employees were just standing around talking to each other. I did not like the kiosk ordering as the screens were gross and filthy! We wanted to pay with cash then the unfriendly cashier told us we had to use another kiosk instead of the one we were using! As we went to cancel our order and move to the other kiosk she then informed us we could pay her. My husband ordered a shake. She asked if he wanted whipped cream and a cherry. He said yes I’ll have it with whipped cream and the cherry. She then snapped we don’t have cherries! WTH!!?? The food was good but this place is poorly managed! The help had no idea how to prioritize duties and never did get any tables cleaned the entire time we were there. One employee showed another how to fill ice in the beverage machine and pulled a chair over to stand on to fill it. They both walked away and left the chair in front of the beverage machine. A couple customers had to reach around it and then an employee came out to fill their own drink and never moved the chair back!!?? Absolutely no clue!! Steak n Shake is a delicious classic that everybody loves, and because of this, they tend to stay pretty busy no matter the time of day. I always try to go expecting to spend at least 10 minutes in the drive thru alone, but the service and food has always been worth it. Sometimes it can be surprisingly fast, though. The food is always fresh, juicy, smells and tastes great. Dining in can be a little crowded since it's such a family hit but a fairly small location, there on Parker Rd. There is outdoor seating, but the metal chairs and tables don't look like they're the most comfortable, and can't really enjoy them during the summer when they get heated. Parking lot is a great size though! Gets very full on nights and weekends. One flaw of it would be the small parking square on the side of the building can get blocked by the drive thru if it gets a little long. Their milkshakes are 10/10, and the parmesean n herb fries are killleerrr. Large drinks are LARGE! I love it.
