I wanted to like this place, I really tried, but its lacking too many details to make it anything other than a 1. There are some unforgivable circumstances that won't sit right with me if I rank this higher than a 1 star. The foundation is there for a stellar establishment with the customer service the lady had taking orders and making drinks. The other lady cooking looked too stressed and in over her head, I felt bad, I'm sure she is short handed as 1 more worker could've made things run much smoother.

Pros: Customer service. The system of fulfillment and delivery to table or person waiting for to-go food. The patio, and the inside. The atmosphere was ok. Prices were fair and they had a good selection of items.

Cons: Unorganized/frazzled. Even being short handed, there are a couple things that are unfortunately unforgivable, even before focused health awareness from covid. Unwrapped straws and utensils that they hand to you with bare unwashed hands after touching money and the register. Not changing gloves after cooking food, running the plate to the customer outside, and then grabbing the door handle, coming inside and immediately making more food and touching plates.. at least change the gloves if you can't wash your hands too. Dropping a spatula on the ground, picking it up, and not changing gloves once again. I'm so glad I didn't get food being made by her. The locals didn't seem bothered as if they are used to her dropping things and building up their immune systems even stronger. It sucks, because if I'm ever back in town, I'm skipping this place, and it really does have potential.

Unfortunately there are a couple other reviews about hygiene and its why I opted for bakery items and drinks. And the 5 star reviewers seem oblivious on what is going on in the kitchen. I would advise someone from your party to stand near the bakery case to watch the food being made.. you might want a refund depending on the hygiene...

I work in the food industry, so I do appreciate y'all being open. However, I was also disappointed in my experience. Aside from food safety, quality (and consistency) of product and service are the most important things to focus on in a food establishment. I understand that it was a little busy. That's why I didn't mind waiting in line. But nobody working was wearing a mask when I went in. Eventually someone said that they had forgotten and they all put them on, but this isn't something that should be forgotten at a time like this. While I was waiting, a woman kept coming up to where the customers were standing at the counter and trying to open cupboard doors that were in front of them without saying "excuse me" or even letting anyone know she was there. She would just start opening the door and hoping people would move out of the way. I decided not to wait the quoted 20 minutes for a simple breakfast sandwich and instead just got a latte. Y'all were out of almond and soy milk. Ok, not a huge deal. I'll just take a normal latte. I was excited for my first latte in several days. I had been on the road drinking gas station coffee. Turns out I paid $5 for a large cup of steamed milk. If there was espresso in there, it wasn't noticable at all. I ended up stopping at a gas station, throwing it out, and buying more gas...

I really wanted to like this place. It was, for the most part, well reviewed and perfect for what I was looking for. But when we got there, the muffins and scones looked burnt and (at least to me) unappetizing. However we picked up a coffee, mocha, a blueberry muffin and an apple turnover.

My mocha and turnover were both good. Nothing spectacular, but good in their own right. But as we were driving away, my daughter started complaining about her blueberry muffin. I have a bad habit of dismissing my 10-year old daughters complaints (I know, I'm working on it), so I kinda blew off her complaints saying 'I told you it looked burnt'. But then she pushed the half eaten muffin into my lap and showed me it was completely undercooked in the center. Ordinarily I would have taken it back to the counter, but we were already headed out of town for a day of activities.

Suffice it to say, I was generally unimpressed. It has so much potential, but the quality appears to be so-so. I would like to give them the benefit of the doubt and assume it's a fluke, but at this point I'll likely...

Terrible service, ordered 5 cheese bagels, they asked several times which bagels, the young girl at the register repeatedly apologized says she was spaced today. After she took 3 more orders she over sold all plain and all cheese then told me I ordered plain. The cook asked which I had said cheese again, girls said no you said plain, the cook said no worries that actually works, but then they continued complaining to each other in front of me saying I ordered wrong, luckily thec3 ladies behind me stood up for me and confirmed I had ordered 3 cheese bagels plain. They then repeated to get everyone behind us 3 for 4 more orders wrong. All would have been fine if you weren't so incredibly rude, the young blond counter girl was ridiculously scattered but the older cook was so rude to tell everyone she heard me order plain, you 2 argued with everyone!! At the end I asked for my coffee, the young blonde asked what coffee, I don't remember you having one, thankfully I had my receipt to show she was once again mistaken.

Welp, when you’re one of a handful of places open on Sunday, you’re bound to get business, but Jakey Leigh’s, apart from having a horrendous name, dishes up some of the worst breakfast I’ve ever seen. And don’t even get me started on the coffee. I thought the food prices were reasonable; that is, until I saw my food. My croissant was burnt to a crisp, the bacon was thin and pre-cooked, and the entire “sandwich” was as light as a feather. There just wasn’t any substance to it at all. Did I mention it was burnt to black? I feel like they should’ve figured out their toaster by now. The coffee was atrocious. I couldn’t see what they were doing behind the machine, but as a former barista trainer and espresso machine technician who used to taste espresso 5x a day, I can tell you it ain’t good. Travelers beware and steer clear. You’re better off with the nasty instant coffee at your continental breakfast, I can assure you. PS, Jakey Leigh, please fix your front door. It’s godawfully obnoxious.
