Aura — Restaurant in Kansas City

My sister and I were in the back of the club by the bar and the club was closing however the club is still packed with people so we aren’t moving yet. This “security man” with locs in a top ponytail approaches us with hostility and is explaining that we need to leave the club and it’s closing and he is ready to go and has to get back home to his baby. We were looking at him with confusion because why did he feel the need to say this to us?! Then my sister states “it’s not that serious” and he states “I’m not going to put my hands on you who are you with”?! WHAT IN THE WORLD IS HE TALKING ABOUT?! Mentioning assaulting us?! Criminal! Sir as soon s swung… LAWSUIT!!! He commences to ask the bartender if she knew us and she said no because yes we don’t know each other and he continuously states that we’re looking at him like he’s crazy. Well yeah because that’s how you’re acting when we haven’t even said anything to you. Very hostile to two black women who have not caused any issue. Then we watch as he gives none of the same energy for any other Caucasian people who were just standing around. He was just walking around them cleaning up. So what was the difference?! He was so unprofessional and rude! We didn’t choose this overnight club for him where he needs to be away from his child at 3am. Don’t bring that to others.. YOU CHOSE THIS JOB! I spoke to a manager and he was willing to listen to what I had to say and informed me that’s not how they attempt to get people to out the establishment. I've been frequenting Aura KC for a few months now and it's quickly become one of my favorite spots for a night out. The establishment offers a unique blend of high-quality service, great music, and a stylish atmosphere that consistently provides an enjoyable experience.

As a regular patron of the bottle service, I'm particularly impressed with the efficiency and friendliness of the bottle servers. They're always attentive, ensuring that my party and I are well taken care of throughout the night.

Even though this is not my type of place it still gets 5 stars. So many lasers and lights and its hard to talk to someone and have a conversation with how loud the music is and wearing masks doesn't help. The lines are so long if you don't arrive early, I'm not sure if its because of the virus rules or what but waited over an hour to get in which really sucked because it was raining and cold. The dress code is very strict, one of my friends had sweats on and wasn't allowed in, we even tried to pay extra but they said no.

Now the reason I give this place 5 stars we couldn't find one of our friends and she didn't have her phone we spent most of the night looking for her knowing she probably drank to much worried out of our minds. When the club was closed we waited till the last person came out and still didn't find her. Luckily we found her when we checked her apartment. We found out later she had fallen asleep in the restroom. Security found her and helped her up, she had drank to much so they let her sit for a while and the manager got her pizza from next door to help her sober up and ordered an uber for her so she got home safe. This may not be my type of place to hang out but how they make sure people are okay gets 5 stars from me.
