Updated January 2025: Enchante has reopened with new staff and bakers. I was not aware of this when I came to pick up my favorite chocolate chip cookie. The cookie recipe has completely changed and I’m quite sad about it; I used to drive south of Grandview all the way to Enchante to get their cookies. I asked the counter person if they were under new management. She stated they have the same owners but all the previous staff and pastry chefs quit and they had to completely rehire. I only tried the chocolate chip cookie so the other items may be great. While the cookie was okay, it was nothing like the previous one and I’ll no longer be going out of my way to visit. I’ll miss those cookies.

I was worried by going there at 2ish in the afternoon on a Saturday that there wouldn’t be much to choose from but there was still an excellent selection! Anytime I try a new bakery, I always try the chocolate chip cookie because I think it says a lot about a place and how they execute their desserts. I also got the chocolate cupcake and their lime tart. I got home and first tried the chocolate cupcake. O.M.G. It was the best cupcake I’ve ever had. The perfect amount of frosting AND the most moist cake I’ve had. I don’t know how they did it! I immediately fell in love. Later on in the day I tried the chocolate chip cookie. Again… O.M.G. It’s the best chocolate chip cookie I’ve had. It’s got a great exterior that is just crispy enough that brings a lot of toasty flavor, but the interior is perfectly cooked and moist. Some chocolate chip cookies can be too sweet but this was absolutely perfect. We have yet to try the lime tart but we are really looking forward to it. It is beautiful. I absolutely cannot wait to go back.
Also, the people working there were absolutely delightful and helpful. A lot of the pastry signs were not accurate or were not on display so I didn’t know what flavors things were; the person working was so helpful. The prices are totally reasonable and I appreciate that. The most expensive thing was the tart which I think was $7 and for the quality, absolutely reasonable and well priced.
I can’t wait to go back and try more things. I hope it’s consistent because this was seriously the best desserts I’ve maybe ever...
Read moreI’m not sure exactly what took place here, but I wish they had never changed it. I absolutely loved when they went by Enchante! It had such a warm, rustic, realistic bakery feel it that I adored. It had charm and the selection of pastries kept me coming back. The staff knew my face and were always so welcoming and friendly. It had limited seating, but that was to be expected from the ambiance of the place. We had finally had a demur bakery/coffee shop where you could actually see the pastry chef from the counter making different treats. I had recently visited them and left so disappointed. The vibe was completely thrown off. They had turned it into a more modernized typical coffee shop that lost its charm. They created way too much counter space and opened more floor space to actually have people sit in there. The pastries are so low on selection. The one thing they constantly had were macarons and it was always a surprise what the chef was putting out for the day. Now I saw none it was a few scattered pastries and the drink menu was even smaller. They use to make in house syrups and now those were no longer an option. It’s so over crowded and loud in there because of the way they opened the floor up. The building is already naturally small so them doing that now causes it to feel crammed. And the staff all have changed and don’t offer the same warm welcoming feeling as the original crew. This place became a cookie cutter coffee shop similar to most in Kansas City and it’s no longer worth the drive through construction for. I really wish they hadn’t changed because they were the best bakery/cafe in the city.
Update: Thank you Austin for your kind reply, however, it was based upon my experience. I never stated anything in regard to having every drink option “under the sun” as you so kindly stated. The drink menu was never large to begin with. It was quite small, but definitely unique and offered wonderful selections. The pastry options prior offered more variety than they did on my last visit.
I’m pretty sure the layout is not the same seeing as I frequented the bakery quite often so I’m well aware. I’m am glad business is going well for you and I hope it continues to rise, but I am also entitled to give my honest opinion as are...

This bakery will absolutely knock your socks off. Recommend you try them out now - before the construction and trolley tracks are built because afterward it will be difficult to get in the front door. I guarantee that!
The classic French decor sets the ambiance, but it is their display of pastries and coffee bar that will impress you. Their pastries are phenomenal and quite beautifully decorated - they almost appear too beautiful to eat. The service is superb and attentive - obviously they have been trained on how to make customers feel welcome and relaxed.
The Super Star is of course, their Pastry Chef. She is the one who is creating the various pastries with fresh ingredients and fruits. The Danishes with peaches and blue berries were divine, as was the fresh fruit tarts - most with edible flower decorations. An interesting option on the menu are their Biscuits and Gravy - without a doubt the best I have every had which is saying a lot from this old southern guy. A tangy and spicy sausage gravy over a freshly baked biscuit - I’d drive back from Alabama to order that again.
To accompany the cakes, fruit biscuits and pastries are a variety of brewed drinks. Our favorites were the Pistachio Honey Latte and Strawberry Mocha Latte.
Enchante is a place one needs to put on their radar. They do cater and offer a variety of Charcuterie Boards, Breakfast, Brunch and Afternoon Tea options for carry out. By far, one of KC’s finest bakery with a five star...
