I’ve gotten boba here a few times. The tea itself tastes delicious so I’ll start with that.
What I don’t appreciate about Dragonfly Tea Zone is the up-charge if you request no ice. I can’t have ice so I decline ice at every establishment no matter the drink, but this is the first place that’s ever charged me for it.
Listen, if your standard of practice is to charge people several bucks for a cup that is mostly ice, that speaks volumes (pun intended) about your business ethics.
Case in point, our order was 24 bucks for three milk teas without ice this weekend. That is absolute madness for TEA which is pennies per ounce to produce. Oh, but it also has boba, too, right? Sure. Except that they give you the smallest amount of it possible compared to any other shop I’ve visited, further solidifying the image that they want to give customers as little bang for their buck as possible. Believe me, they’d still turn a juicy profit if they were more fair on portions.
So one of the fun parts about getting a boba drink is the sensory aspect, but that isn’t so great when the tapioca pearls are small, mushy, and slimy. This boba was so sad and underwhelming. They weren’t prepared correctly. I’ve had hard, undercooked boba here in the past as well.
I think I’ve given DTZ enough chances and that’ll be the last time I stop in, even though they’re the closest to my house. I’ll stick to my favorite family-owned Boba shop from now on because they are consistent, they take care of their customers properly, and they actually know how to...
Read moreVery seldom do I give a bad review. Today I ordered 3 drinks that included a large Thai tea with light tapioca. While I was ordering, the girl with the purple fingernails tried to serve a large Thai tea with tapioca and jelly. A customer picked it up then brought it back because it wasn't hers. As I paid, I took note that they brought it to where the receipts were (pending orders). That same drink with all that stuff was next to my receipt. After they finished making the other two drinks, said my order was ready. I told the girl that it wasn't mine and I ordered with light tapioca. I also stated that this certain drink was made before I placed an ordered. In which she replied, "it was just made". If it was just made, then why did you try to serve it while I placed my order? This review could be 5 five stars because the drinks are good, but when someone wants to lie and say they just made the drink, no! Attention to detail. I stood there watching you all the whole time and would have physically seen you put a little bit (like I asked) of tapioca in my cup and pour my drink into the cup and put the lid on, but that wasn't the case. Could have been corrected if the employees would have apologized and remade the drink then I would have given a better review. Management needs to retrain so customer service...
Read moreIt makes me sad for this being my first bad review and at a place that I love. The past two visits have been very unpleasant. The girl that primary works there by herself and was there today at 1pm 9/9 has twice been very unkind and unprofessional. We placed an order today to which I ordered a Large and she made it a regular , I kindly asked her if I could have it remade as a large and she grabs her book and shows that she wrote down a regular size and refused to remake it. The last time she misheard our order and made a completely wrong drink to which she again argued but remade and packed it purposefully with ice and we went back and showed her and all she said was “that’s how much it comes with” and we repurchased a new one. As someone that has worked at coffee shops I know that this is such a poor level of hospitality and customer service, she’s never even offered an apology, a simple “it must have been a miscommunication” would even be appropriate. I hope she’s met with some retraining...
