Terrible service, beef broth soup is good.
I couldn't understand anything my waitress was saying. When I went to pay I thought I heard her list something that I didn't order. I listed exactly what we had ordered, and by the time we had that straightened out, I was flustered and frustrated. Because I couldn't understand her, I couldn't tell if this was a misunderstanding, or if she was hustling me. She handed me a piece of paper, I put away my credit card, and I walked out. As I waited outside for my wife and son to get back from the bathroom, I thought "What just happened, is this my credit card receipt? It says receipt on it." It was not, it was the bill. When I realized this I went back in to pay (this was just about two minutes after I had left). I had walked out flustered not realizing that she had never swiped my card.
When I went inside to explain, she made a scene in her own restaurant. I was calm and apologetic, and tried to explain that there had been a misunderstanding. I obviously intended to pay, because I came back into the restaurant holding my bill up, asking if she had swiped my card.
She was very rude and loud. She demanded that I leave a tip. I slid the bill back to her without writing a tip amount on it. She slid it back and demanded a tip again. I put my finger on the total and said "this is what I'm paying". She went on about how that was only for the food, "you don't pay for somebody serving you?" she complained. I said "you were rude to me, I'm not giving you a tip". She continued complaining, and so I told her "ring me up right now or I'm taking my credit card and leaving without paying anything".
At this point everyone in the small dining area was listening to our discussion. After threatening to leave, she quickly rang me up. I told her I would not be back, and that I would be leaving a negative review, while she kept saying "yeah yeah" and waving me away. This is that negative review.
Take my Vietnamese friend's advice (as I should have) and go to the Vietnam Cafe...
Read moreSo, I was in the city market area and decided to stop on in for lunch. Let me say that I love Vietnamese food. When I came in I sat down at a table towards the front. I was asked by the person who served me to move. "Someone" was sitting there. Okay...sure. I'm directed to sit by the door. Got it. Was brought water but the service I received was noticeably different than those around me. There were two gentleman in the restaurant before me. The lady who was serving everyone was VERY pleasant towards them and another pair that came in later. Even referring to them as her "friends". Meanwhile, I'm sitting by the door after I ordered the fried rice (was good but had to take it to go). The rice came out. No pleasantries, no asking if the water can be refilled. Fast forward five minutes. I'm finished eating and clearly waiting for the check and a to-go box. The lady had to come out and walk right past me at least five times. All the while providing excellent service to everyone else. Approximately, five minutes before she decided it was okay to even look my direction to close out my meal there where two young ladies who walked in AND SAT AT THE TABLE I WAS ASKED TO MOVE FROM! Nothing was said to them. Just excellent customer service. I almost left a $20 and walked out. I gave my card to settle the bill and she had the nerve to ask if I wanted to add a tip??!?! For what? I'll never go back there. Food is overpriced too....
Read moreThis place is a rip off. There is nothing authentic about their food. They make Vietnamese food but the serving nothing like a typical Vietnamese. Really makes you feel like you've been conned at a tourist trap area.
The owners couldn't really be bothered with service, hence everything is gets done really slow, from getting the menus to taking orders and actually getting your food.
I ordered the pork chop rice and at every place I've eaten that, you get a generous slice of pork chop that you'd need a spoon or a knife to cut it before you it it, but this place it was as thin a slice of ham.
The eggrolls showed up burned, when we told the owner-server that, she acted like she didn't hear us and walked away.
When we paid the bill, undeserving of her tip, she kept arguing with my friend over how it was stated in the menu and we had to pay it, to which he reluctantly did and I told him that we're never coming here again.
This sort of operations is what gives Asians a bad name, makes us wish we never went there to begin with but hey, at least we'll never go...
