RUDE, DISGUSTING AND COMPLETE DISREGARD FOR THE CUSTOMER. I WILL NEVER STEP INTO THIS STORE AGAIN. This place used to be much better when the old man used to run it. Now his sons or brothers not sure how they are related have no respect for the customer ESPECIALLY WOMEN. They treat americans differently because they need their business and want to show their best but fake side but in reality they are extremely rude to the middle eastern and asian women. They talk down, rude to the customer.
I am a regular customer at the store for last 15 years but customer service has certainly gone from bad to worse since the son's took over. I usually go there for spices, meat and bread but this time I had the worst experience of my life, as usual I went there to pick up my stuff, called into the store before and was told that they will save it. I went there after few hours and the owner told me no one called! Before I could explain my side, he was raising his voice and unwilling to listen. I was shocked by his behavior and without saying a word, I choose to leave and wowed never to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWell reading over some reviews on here I have to say my service here was fine. I've walked down to get my food for lunch from my work and everytime I haven't had any problems with the staff behind the counter. I also am a female which people have said the men there single women out and treat them like garbage. Not in my visits and not to my knowledge to other female customers or I would turn and walk out! The food is always top notch and my favorite it the Vegetarian gyros with house made hummus and pita. I'm not a vegetarian but I also like the house combo you get a good portion for the price. Sad to hear people running a small family business this way and treating their customers this way because there are so many other places to eat. But I also know how people can write negative reviews on a business for many reasons and stretch the truth. I say if you liked the food then try it one more time then if they are rude or short with you then don't go back. The power of "word of mouth" goes a long way expecially in the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAs a Kansas City local, Iāve been going to Habashi House for years, and itās the first place I take out-of-town friends. Whether you eat meat or not, the flavors and textures here are crowd-pleasers. The classics are outstandingāgyros, falafel, tahini, tabouli, tzatzikiāand the rice with perfectly toasted almond slivers is the fragrant stuff of dreams. In colder months, do yourself a favor and order the lentil soup; itās simple, comforting, and deeply satisfying.
Donāt skip dessertābaklava or the fig cheesecakeāand consider a take-home pint of tabouli or hummus. Then pop next door to their market for spices to bring the flavors home. The setting is open and breezy, and the location in City Market puts you steps from other local favorites; if youāre with a group, everyone can find something they love and enjoy the covered veranda outside.
For me, Habashi House feels like a little day trip to Petra, while being very much a part of my own hometown....
