All I can say about this place is that it’s the “four letter expletive that would likely be censored but begins with an S.” Everything from the food, service, portions, experience, and prices make for a top notch destination if you’re craving Indian food or spices. The two people that run this place (I’ve never seen anyone besides these two anytime I’ve been here), are the most friendly folks you could come across. They go above and beyond to answer questions from patrons about spices, give advice, and add personal anecdotes to really connect with their clientele. This is hands down my favorite joint among the dozen or so restaurants in the area. Great food, warm service, and unlike most restaurants serving supposedly spicy food, when you ask for spicy, Tikka House delivers. It’s the perfect level of heat. Enough to bring on just a bit of eye brow sweat but leave your taste buds intact so you can enjoy your entire plate....

Listen I used to be just like you. I was white lost and my food had no seasoning. I was stuck in a world of bland and I wasn't sure how to get out. It was by sheer luck one day when at the river marker buying my bananas for my protein smoothies that me and my wife Karen love that I stumbled across this stall of stuff that smell so fabulous. Turns out it's what they called spice. I couldn't resist so I started to try these so called spices and man were they amazing. So I bought as many as I could afford and took them back to Karen. And now our chicken is no longer flavorless. Our one pot dishes are now other wordly. Even my salads have taken on a flavor of their own. tikka house saved my marriage my house and my tastebuds.

All jokes aside this place is amazing their spices and spice blends are top notch and their food like the vegan potato bread are some of my favorites in the city. You won't be...

First you told to write down all the spices we want a little labels and they would fill them in the bags. Then she told us to fill our own bags and we will be charged by the scoop and she showed us with the amount on the scoop look like.

So we filled our bags per her instructions because I guess she didn’t feel like doing it… As I was checking out, she told me all the measurements were wrong…

I believe it would be easier if they just had a scale andweighed it. or had more of a measuring cup that you could top off? Or better yet, they could have done all the scoops for us as they first told us they would.

It was very sketch for them to decide how much is in the bag at the time check out.

In the plus side, We were please with the variety of spices. They told it was proprietary and they make other spices in house. I just hope they taste as good as they smell after spending $150...

Undoubtedly, they’re known for their spices, but if you’re looking for authentic Indian food—even average—this is not the place. We ordered samosas, and honestly, if someone paid me to eat them, I wouldn’t. The potato filling was heavily marinated in turmeric, almost as if it were meat. Yes, turmeric is a staple in our South Asian cuisine, but no one prepares samosa filling this way. I took one bite and couldn’t take another. Even 30–40 minutes later, I was still suffering from the overwhelming, senseless amount of turmeric. Purely disappointing and absolutely not edible.

This is an overall great place to stop in river market. We ended up going 3 times within 2 days to try multiple different items. We really like the chicken shawarma, the pita makes the wrap really good and is an important part of any chicken swarma. We also tried multiple pita pockets which are a great price, the bread is cooked perfectly and have great choices for anyone to try they favorite. My favorite is the beef and lamb. Their hummus is one of the best I have ever had. We did not get any spices but we now know where we would buy them in the future.
