We came in yesterday an hour before close at 9PM. Our waitress, Tati I believe, sat us in the front of the restaurant for a good 10 minutes before she sat us. There were only 2 tables there and the rest were open but she wandered around the place for a while before she cleared our table and sat us finally. She asked us what we wanted to drink after another 5-10 minute wait and then forgot what we wanted only moments later (3 waters and 2 coffees). She then brought out 2 waters and no coffees so we had to remind her. When it came time to order we ordered normal things off the menu with no substitutions or anything and she literally didn’t know about their protein pancake combo and had to stare at the menu for a while before writing it down. Ten more minutes to by and she comes back and asked how I wanted my eggs cooked and to remind her of my order (this means she hasn’t entered my order yet). About 10 minutes before close my two friends got their food and I still hadn’t gotten mine. Eventually I had to ask for it in a to go box and she beought me the smallest one for my pancakes, egg, sausage, bacon, and hash browns. Then she brought us our checks and proceeded to stare at us waiting for us to get up. Eventually, after about 3 minutes of staring she came up and asked if we just wanted her to go ring up our cards instead of us walking up to pay. We knew she was rushing us out and she said “sorry it was so slow were trying to close so that’s why it took so long.” Like damn at least come up with an excuse. Then she came back with just my card and said “I can’t run the other until you sign it.” Then she stood there and watched me fill out the tip line before I gave her the slip back. She stood there and looked at the check before scoffing and walked away to run my friends card before proceeding to do the same thing to her. If I were her manager I’d fire her on the spot. Worst service ever. I’d give zero...
Read moreWe went to this restaurant with a group of five, I went and hungry and ready to enjoy their food and pancakes. We place a kid's order with the side of pancakes and adult crispy fish platters which should come with 3 pieces of fish and instead of French fries on the side, we requested Green Beans with 2 orders of their specialty pancakes. One. Blueberry and strawberry cheesecake with with one of the crispy fish platters having a senior citizen discount. The food took a while to come out, when it did they did not have the 2 side pancakes for child, server ordered 1 shrimp and fries, instead of 2 fish platters and server switched the fish platter to the 55 plus which only gave the senior in our group 2 pieces of fish when they requested 3 pieces of fish without informing us that she would be losing the 3rd piece of fish she requested. The server went back to get one more piece of fish, which I specifically told him I'm missing my 3 piece fish platter. He kept pointing at the fish on the table which he was not understanding. I ordered 2 fish platters and not one. He ordered shrimp instead. It took a long time for him to come back and my pancakes got cold. Because I was wanting strawberry syrup. So I sent those back. This was the worst experience I've ever had at this restaurant. It was a lot of confusion. And they switched her senior discount to 2 pieces of fish without informing us that the 55 plus was 2 pieces of fish instead of 3, we should have been informed of that before they made the switch. I did not notice any of this until the manager brought me the ticket and then I saw where the server had messed up. very disappointed with my experience, and lack of communication and knowledge very disappointment. And l still left hungry. Manager finally gave me my fish platter and I had to take it as...
Read moreTwo things went wrong with my experience. Number one, when I ordered cheesy grits, the server asked if I would be able to pay how much they cost. At that point, I asked the server why wouldn’t I be able to pay that, and then she just made some excuse about how that’s not what she meant and then said never mind.
Two, when it came time to pay for the meal, she used a handheld POS system, and very boldly selected her own tip for herself, and then gave me the handheld POS system to sign.
She took the choice away from me when it came to tipping her. Which is incredibly offensive.
And I also believe that it paints a picture that I’m stupid and did not realize what she was doing.
This is offensive because she should not be choosing what people tip her. She doesn’t know people’s financial situations. That’s not for her to choose. That’s for the customer to decide what they think her service was worth, and what they’re comfortable giving her.
For the record, I was going to give her 20%.
Because that’s always what I tip. Whether the experience is good or bad. If I have a bad experience, I just won’t come back. But I still always tip 20%.
So to have that chosen for me before I signed on the dotted line, really turned me off.
Both of these instances, offended me deeply. Enough to write a review about it. The food was decent. The grits were super runny and had no flavor, but other than that, no complaints.
But I will not be returning to...
