Pizza is good, employeess not so much. Been here 5 times.
This place is expensive for pizza in the area - not an issue because it's good. Has the NY thin, but crust is thicker than a typical NY slice.
They are SLOW- call in an order, they quote you 35-40 minutes, expect longer. Again, fine if you do good work.
Now, the experience of simply picking a pizza up. My 5 experiences in a tiny space where you pick the pizza up:
Trip 1 - pizza was not ready, waited an extra 15 min. No problem, first time. However, while waiting the staff realized they made the wrong size pizza for another customer, decided to just put it in a different box and rip somebody off. Not a good look
Trip 2: Took 10 min over quoted time. When I got my pizza, it was wrong. Not even close. I order simple pizzas. They fixed it, waited another 15 minutes and they made the order right with no additional offers or extras for the trouble.
Trip 3: Waited longer to arrive, pizza was just coming out of the oven and correct. Expected experience when ordering a $25 pizza with 1-2 toppings.
Trip 4: Pizza was ready after 50 minutes, but again wrong. Turned around to get it remade, waited 15 more min for new one and I think they took the wrong pizza to the back for employees to eat.
Trip 5: Showed up late, pizza wasn't ready. They had one pre-made that was close to mine, they added the last topping and threw it in the oven and called it mine.
Again, the pizza is decent, but at the price point you should at least have employees that can read a ticket and make the food correctly. I'm moving away from KC soon, and will not be coming here when I visit...
Read moreI thought the pizza was very good, but the customer service was terrible. We ordered through yelp, which uses GrubHub to fullfil orders. The wait time was a little over an hour, so we timed it right and arrived just in time. Surprise! They had given away our pizza, that we prepaid for, to someone else. After a lot of discussion and showing the receipt, they agreed to make us another one. That added about another 30 minutes. In the meantime, I called GrubHub to tell them what happened. You would think we spit on the Johnny's employee the way they reacted to that. Somehow, they thought the whole thing was somehow our fault. All we did was order a pizza. They are the ones who gave it to the wrong person. No discount and only a grudging apology. I won't return. There is a lot of good pizza in KC.
EDIT: I do not know how to respond other than by editing my review. There was a younger, male employee who was sympathetic and wanted to do the right thing. When he said he was sorry and would reimburse the pizza, the older (than him) female hatefully told him, "you don't have the authority to do that!" She was the one whose demeanor was so off-putting to my wife. If you truly want to investigate, this was Order...

I was really excited to hear Lee's Summit downtown had a new Pizzeria. My first visit unfortunately wasn't the best experience. The pizza crust was burnt beyond my liking and my dinner guest. It was quite black and had a strong burnt flavor. . When I arrived, I was directed to the self-service kiosk to place my order. However, after going through the prompts, I was unable to complete the order because I wanted to pay with cash. It would have been helpful if the staff had informed me upfront about cash payment limitations with the kiosk. Additionally, there were no visuals to compare pizza sizes, which caused some confusion. When I politely asked the staff member behind the counter for clarification, she seemed a bit annoyed, which wasn't the most welcoming experience for a first-time customer. Overall, the burnt pizza, the confusion around cash payments and the staffs customer skills detracted from my initial impression.
Sorry I have a picture, but I am not sure how to...
