Vinca Jewelry — Local services in Kansas City

I first stumbled into Vinca a few years ago during the Plaza Art Fair. My first impression was that the store was really cute and the jewelry was pretty. My fiancé and I later decided to go back to get a diamond appraised there. They appraised the diamond for free and even showed me settings while we were waiting. It was then that I fell in love with a unique and gorgeous setting. It has a white gold band with diamonds and rose gold with pink diamonds around the center diamond. I knew then that I had to have it! My now Fiancé and I were not quite ready to get engaged so Tu, the manager, said that she would take notes and that way if the setting had been purchased when we were ready, we could have it made. Later I found out My Fiancé purchased the ring and we are now engaged. It is the most beautiful ring I have ever seen. I am in LOVE with it! I honestly get compliments at least 5 times a week about my ring. One negative is that I did have to pay, I think $35 to have the ring resized. I don't really mind this though because they are a small local business and I understand small businesses can't always offer all the small free stuff big chains can. The positive is that you get a 100% unique ring! You will never see another person wearing the same one. Tu, the manager is amazing! Whenever I am near Vinca I bring my ring in to be cleaned, it takes about 5 minutes and she recognizes my fiancé and me every time. When I went in to buy his wedding band she remembered me, my fiancé, his job, what we had talked about having made, and even his ring size with even having to look at our file! I truly feel like a valued customer at Vinca. I honestly Love this place and we will be purchasing all of our jewelry from Vinca from Engagement ring on!

Another reason I I love this place is once I got the engamnent ring stuck on my Right hand, ring finger and I tried for a day to get it off! I tried everything! Icing it, butter, everything i saw online or anyone suggested I tried and could not get it off! I called and they told me to come in and they would get it off or cut it if they had to. I was really nervous because, by now my finger was really swollen and I didn't want to have it cut off. She got the ring off in about 3 seconds just by using Windex! Amazing. My now husband and I had gone to a couple of different jewelers in order to help find me the perfect engagement ring. We were looking for something that was unique yet didn't break the bank, as well as somewhere where we would be comfortable. As many know, a lot of jewelry stores come off a bit stuffy and pretentious, which doesn't work with our style. The first time I went in, I decided to go alone and get a survey of what they had to offer. Tu, the manager, sat down with me and literally let me look and try on every single ring in the store. We at that point narrowed it down to my favorite 30 or so and then started weeding it out even more. After about 2-3 hours I had it narrowed down to 7 rings. My now husband and I went back a few days later and Tu had all 7 set aside, we looked at those and my husband ultimately picked his favorite for me. Tu was extremely patient, helpful, flexible, etc with us. I even stopped in again a few days later to look at the ring again, just to make sure...no hiccups, it was smooth sailing. Not to mention, at this point, Tu had memorized both of our names, so from then on, when I walk in, I always get a warm "hello" and she remembers both of us by first name, as well as what we have going on in our lives!

After we got engaged I started eyeing bands to go with my engagement ring. Because of the shape of it, it was going to be more difficult to find a band that fit well...Tu and I had discussed having Simone custom make sometihng, but fortunately one evening when I stopped in to get my ring cleaned (which they will do for me on a regular basis without question) I saw a band that matched perfectly...I believe Simone had just recently created it and had I had him do something custom, it would have been basically the exact ring, so that's what we went with. We couldn't be more thrilled, happy and proud of what I have on that little ring-finger of mine!

Lastly, we also took in an old tarnished gold band that my in-laws gave us for my husbands band...they shined it up beautifully and were able to engrave exactly what I wanted on the inside!

Since then I've sent two other couples to Vinca and both have been just as thrilled as we have been! I couldn't be happier with our decision to...

I am very happy with my entire experience working with Vinca. I was looking for a pretty simple moss agate ring, and I had just expected to never see what a moss agate looks like in person before I had the finished ring in my hand. Well... They had moss agate in store! This was the first sign that this place was a good find. Then when talking about what I wanted made, they were very helpful, not trying to upsell anything, just very genuine and helpful! The whole experience was so pleasant. This was my first time getting custom jewelry, so I had no idea what to expect, and everyone was so nice and patient with me. They reassured that I could trust them, and I am very glad I did, because the moss agate center stone, which I was a little worried about, looks fantastic. If you look up moss agate, you will quickly realize that this is not an easy stone to get right. Each one is so different, and there are so many different aspects you could want in one. The people working at Vinca have good taste. You can trust them to make a really amazing ring. I bet you could hand draw something with your non-dominant hand with a few bullet points to aid your poor illustration and they could probably produce something really great.
