The green chili burrito sent me to the EMERGENCY ROOM.
Let me start from the beginning:
The acid reflux gods chose to lure me into Tacos Valentina because they have a foothold, no, a chokehold, on my need for authentic Mexican foods.
This was no ordinary burrito. It was created by Abuelas of the past, sent forward in time to bless those who need a homemade meal with real ingredients. The hot sauce was freshly scooped out of an active volcano so, it was perfection.
I took the time to thank the server and told her that this is legitimately one of the best dishes I've ever had. And then, the next morning, I woke up with what I now have learned is pancreatitis. A long-fought battle with mild acid reflux escalated quickly, and I had to admit to doctors, nurses, family, friends, that I WAS LOVED AND THEN BETRAYED BY A BURRITO AND THAT'S WHY I'M HERE. hahahaha. For real though, it's not the 'rito's fault. It's mine, for pushing through the upper lip sweat of literally getting lost in the hot sauce, (and may also have happened bc I've been raw-dogging cold brew on an empty stomach for much of the last year).
$12 bucks for a burrito. $350 co-pay for the ER. And idk how much more I'll owe for the testing and such, BUT, absolutely worth it. When I heal my stomach and pancreas lining, I'll be back, folks. Too good to stay away. Might skip the sauce...
Read moreOrdered to-go and was not impressed. I got a single smoked mahi mahi taco, a single potato taco, a single mushroom taco, and an order of elote. The fish had a smoky flavor but that's the only flavor I was getting and the fish was very dry. The potato taco had one small yellow potato sliced down the middle with no flavoring on the potato itself just a drizzle of sauce and cilantro on top. The mushroom taco had maybe three pieces of mushroom, with again a drizzle of sauce, onion, and cilantro. The elote was not served on a cob as I had hoped, and appeared to be steamed because there was quite a bit of juice at the bottom of the cup. The elote was tossed in queso, topped with cotija cheese and crushed up takis.
The tacos were $5.50/each and the elote was $7.00! They had to be the smallest tacos I've eaten for $5.50, and very thrown together elote for $7.00. I left still feeling hungry! The menu makes everything sound delicious and top notch but the food did not deliver whatsoever. There's a nice patio and lots of seating inside so if you're wanting a really quick bite to eat but are mainly looking for a spot to get a beer this place might be more your style. There are no non-alcoholic choices however and it's very expensive for what you get. Disappointing and will...
Read moreI am Hispanic and I went as a family to buy some tacos, I had never heard of this place, it was close to where I was passing and my son wanted tacos. We entered and to a quiet place, I just want to say that the treatment was not very pleasant, I felt how they treated me with force and their racism when looking at us, in fact one of them looked at us with a mocking face. They charged $60 dls for two orders of 3 tacos and the asada ones were practically 3 pieces of meat and a hard tortilla and 1 cup of sauce. The taste wasn't bad but it was expensive and there was an amount of meat that made me feel like I was eating only tortillas. I will never return and if you are Latino you will receive racist treatment. They sell Mexican food that's why I went. My advice is that if you don't like having Hispanic customers, it is better that you sell your American cuisine of hamburgers and pizzas. I'm sorry but the treatment my family and I received was...
