Our first experience in “The Basement” was wonderful! We had a lot of fun, the hostess and actress were amazing and really made the experience immersive! We were even able to escape thanks to the help of our wonderful actress, Alex.
Our most recent experience in “The Aviary” was unfortunately not as great. It started out good, but we feel that some of the clues in the rooms were mixed up and it really made it hard to complete the puzzles. The instructions on the part with the key were not clear, and it got stuck in the door that locked and we couldn’t reach our arms to the end of the tunnel to get it. We called for help multiple times with no response, despite being told that our game master could hear us and that if we needed help to just call. We wasted a good couple of minutes trying to get the attention of the game master because we couldn’t progress at all with the key stuck. Then we had to explain what was going on because the game master didn’t understand that the key was just suck and not that we didn’t know what to do.
After that, we got to a different puzzle where we were really confused because the clues weren’t matching up to the instructions on the computer. We again asked for help, and again didn’t receive it until a good 5 minutes later, running down our time again. When the game master finally did respond, we asked for clues and she just told us exactly what we’d already been doing. One of the equations she told us didn’t match to ours, and when we asked about it, she brushed it off and rushed us out. There was a lot of mix ups that we had to guess on because we just weren’t getting the help we were asking for. We want to come back and play with the game not mixed up and set right…Still would recommend going but, just think this time around the room was mixed up with the normal and hard mode because we were given objects and clues that had no purpose despite them definitely having an intended purpose, and when we asked about them we weren’t given an answer and the hostess even said “then I don’t...
Read moreIf I could rate this place 0 stars I would! My group of four had made a reservation for “The Study” on March 25th around 9pm online. There were no available reservations for “The Study” or “The Basement” that night as both were booked for most of the weekend. One available time slot for “The Study” was open for the next day *March 26th at 10:30pm. We booked it right away and the total cost was $165. After booking we never received a confirmation of our reservation which we thought was weird but we never questioned it. Around 9am on the day of our reservation, Saturday March 26th, we received a confirmation email saying we were still good to go. Fast forward to 10:15 pm (we were told to arrive 15 minutes of our reservation) our group is greeted by a lady host not sure of her name and she informs us that our booking was for the previous night. Then proceeds to hand us a link to talk to the basement KCS customer service online and walks out of the room for 10 minutes without resolving the issue. We fill out the form in the waiting room and sat for the lady to come back. When she returned she told us that she thinks we need to leave because she had to kick another group out. Therefore we were left not only without the escape room experience but also robbed of our refund for the mistake on their end. Also the customer service online has yet to reply...
Read moreSadly disappointed. Maybe we weren't the quickest, smartest bunch but this escape room was supposed to have a live actor in it but not a single live person appeared in the basement. We paid regular price for a"live experience" but that didn't happen. When we played a similar zombie escape room in Houston there was a live person the whole way through. So, after 45 minutes and 4 rooms through, not one live person appeared. Just the host from the beginning showed up to help us exit. I would've been happy to lose if there was an actor taunting us the whole way through. The host even said at the start the actor was taking a quick break and would be ready shortly so what happened? We were disappointed and are feeling jipped!
Update! The next day the GM reached out to me by email and phone. He was anxious to make it right and explained what happened. Apparently the actor fell ill and had to leave but they chose not to let us know to give us the option to participate in the game without them. They just ignored the fact that the actor wasn't in the game and let us play without. Poor decision making but none the less, the GM offered us a do over which we did the following night. We chose the other room since we had already played one. It was great and had a fantastic time! Actor included!!! I really appreciate the GM making this...
