Taste of Philly — Restaurant in Kansas City

This place should be shut down immediately. We ate here yesterday and it was disgusting. Discolored hamburger meat for phillys sat out at room temperature on a prep counter for a long time. Other food was left on the nasty prep table along with another restaurants food an employee was eating. They even prepped on an unclean counter that customers were leaning on and touching to get water. Employees were chewing gum while prepping food and weren’t friendly to begin with. The hand washing sink had other items such as dirty common rags, plastic ware and food in it. Taste of Philly, without washing your hands first, gloves do absolutely nothing! I’ve tried to eat there several times, having different menu items throughout the years. I’ve finally reached the all time low point and won’t be eating there again. What set the bottom bar for for me was their signature “original Philly Cheesesteak. Ground up meat with so much salt it was barely edible. The cheese was white and melty and something like provolone but the entire bun was sopping with grease. I asked for a cup for water and was told they have no tap water. I could see the sink from where I was standing, but they’d rather charge you for a soda. What a horrible greasy dive. Tourists beware, don’t let the underinflated pricing fool you, this food is bad. If you must have something from them try the hot dog, they can’t...

A little disappointed. I know the that this business has changed hands recently, so I expected some changes. But, the changes are a little disappointing. I always order the Gyro combo, so no changes on my end. Can’t say the same about my food. I noticed the Gyro meat was a little mushy, I know sometimes when business change hands there is some changes in the distributor, I can tell that is the case with the Gyro meat, again very mushy and did not taste the same to me. The combo comes with fries and a drink. I believe my fries were re- dropped in the cooking grease to warm them up, that would have been fine if they weren’t the crummy fries at the bottom of the bag.
