An irreversible experience with service...
Promptly seated (2 of us), but waiting in excess for a server, and at that didn't seem experienced - didn't know what a club soda was and had direct them to the bar. Took multiple trips to provide chips, salsa and beverages, correctly!! Finally placed the food order and waited forever... the adjacent table of six seated after us was nearly done with their meal, and we still hadn't gotten our food. Finally caught the attention of the hostess who had "someone" stop by to inquire - advised accordingly but it was still an additional 10 mins to receive our entries (at this point we still hadn't seen the initial server return and never did).
So far we've been in the restaurant ~45 mins...
Eventually received the meal, of which the order was not entirely filled accurately (incorrect choice of sides). No one check on us or offered beverage refills the entire time. Once finished the meal, a manager eventually stopped by but did not identify themselves a such. Stated we would receive a "small" discount on the tab with an insincere apology, removed "an" empty plate and again never had anyone return to the table.
Didn't get the bill after waiting another 10 mins, so approached the host stand which was not manned... waiting another ~5 mins, the manager approached us asking if we needed help as if they had never seen us before (like seriously??). Sharing this was our first visit to the establishment and how pathetic the service was, they stated the bill would be covered.
The food was good, not necessarily great for what it took to get but if Uncle Julio's was really genuinely sincere about an apologies and had any desire to entice us back, a gift card might have been in order after spending 1.5 hours in the restaurant and having 4 different staff involved with our service (none of whom did anything to rectify an escalating situation).
Needless to say, there are too many choices to warrant returning to this establishment given this first impression!! Oh, and it was a mid Saturday afternoon where the place was nearly empty of patrons... such a poor experience coming up short on service...
Read moreWent to uncle julio's with a few friends and used a $75 e-gift card. Our waiter couldn't figure out the gift card so he got a waitress to help. She brought me the receipt after running the numbers from the card and realized as she handed it to me that the number was wrong and it had only credited me for $48 on the gift card. She politely apologized and told us her manager would fix it. He came over and was visibly hostile from the instant he arrived, telling me the gift card only had $48, end of story, and that our balance of $75 was from a day in April (which is my wife's birthday, when she received the gift card from some co workers, so yeah that tracked). I explained that and he said we had used $27 of it since that day in April. I opened the e-gift card in front of him from email to card and showed him the balance was actually currently $75 according to their own website, he told me he had no idea where I was getting that number from. So I reopened it again as he watched, and when the amount on the card according to their site was $75, he got really angry and told me he didn't care what it said online. Despite our overall bill being about $300 as a group, he ended up forcing me to pay the extra $22 left on the bill. Left cash to cover the remainder that I didn't actually owe because his temper had escalated to the point I didn't want to stick around with a credit card, and he followed us outside to demand we pay.
Won't be back. Service was lousy to begin with despite being almost empty, but being yelled at by a manager when I could actively show him the gift card balance was the worst experience I've had as a...
Read moreStopped in for an early dinner with my Mom while I was in town. It wasn't even 4pm & the place was pretty much empty.
We were greeted warmly by a pleasant & polite young lady who sat us in the bar area. She disappeared & brought us chips & salsa, saying our server would be over in a moment.
5+ minutes later our server showed up, no mention of a hello or an introduction. He started right off with an excuse as to why he took so long to get to us, but no apology.
The only thing my Mom ever eats there is their chicken fajita nachos, which aren't on their menu any longer. How hard is it to make this if requested? Nope, not possible.
The food arrived & instantly my Mom was confused, she thought she ordered something different than what they brought her. No biggie, she tried it & said it was okay so she kept it.
FOH Mgr came out to check on us, real personable guy & we appreciated it. Sadly, our server was HORRIBLE. I had to get up twice & ask the hostess to help us find him. My drink was empty for the longest time.
The tortillas that were supposed to come with my Mom's meal arrived about halfway thru our meal, didn't need them then so sent them back.
Shift change is NO excuse for poor service. There was 1 other table in the entire bar area!
This was a place that my Mom loved going to in the past but after tonight, she said she'll never go back.
$50 for 2 people, no alcohol. Food was mediocre at the best. Service was the worst I've EVER had ANY WHERE.
I'd give NO stars if I...
