Disappointing plate and experience for $32. I picked this spot because of other pics and reviews. But my plate compared to others, including my neighboring diners was less than full. The omelette was well cooked and taste was good, as far as the egg but the omelette was hardly filled with anything. The potatoes were good but hardly anything was put on the plate. (Pic is flattering) For a $20 plate it was lacking in quantity and presentation. If this was a roadside stand not catering to tourists and everyone else's plates were not so much better looking, I wouldn't complain. The small glass of orange juice, half filled with ice was $6. Plus tip. I used to be a server so always tip 20% min, but question my decision since server, while friendly, never checked on me even though it was not very busy late morning. There were only two other tables who were already served their food. She checked on them multiple times. I chose a printed receipt on the device she presented for payment and she just walked away and never came back or explained why I didn't get the receipt. So roughly $32 for the least enjoyable meal in my whole stay of 7days. This place was more expensive than some excellent fish dishes and dinners from other local places of all types. The building also requires a trek through back courtyard from the parking lot (not green or pretty) with no signs explaining how to get to restaurant, and inside was not attractive or inviting with...
Read moreHOLY MOUTHFUL OF DIVINE CULINARY ORGASM! One of THE, if not THE best breakfast Ive had in my 55 years of living.
Crunchy outside, moist inside, sweet, but not super sugary, Skillet MOCHI pancakes filled with fresh blueberries and creme(?vanilla), plus a side of perfectly moist/cooked scrambled eggs with moist juicy, delectable sausage patties. The endless coffee was top notch as well as the wait staff. Friendly, sweet, kind, and loving, as if your own family.
If you are seeking an amazing bfast, with excellent human beings, then no need to look further. If you aren't, check out McDonalds. OK food, but about 90% less quality.
I will have to restrain myself from coming here on a regular basis, as I dont want to burn out on this most amazing small spot.
Kudos to the owner, and staff. They all deserve a raise, if possible
I want to quit my job...
Read moreThey’ve recently moved to a new location that’s more comfortable and easier to access. Since they open bright and early, it’s a great spot to enjoy a relaxed breakfast during your trip—or a laid-back lunch or dinner with fresh local Hawaiian ingredients, any time of day.
Personally, I felt the prices were on the higher side—but honestly, with the way everything’s gone up, it’s understandable. And in return, the portions are generous and the quality is solid. The staff also do a great job explaining the menu, so don’t hesitate to ask about local Hawaiian dishes and give something new a try! Plus, since it’s located inside Coconut Marketplace, there are often events happening nearby—like hula performances or open rehearsals, and even live music in the courtyard. It’s a great bonus to enjoy some local culture...
