Update July 2023:
On my last visit all the regular people who worked here, knew my favorites before I walked and and were genuinely part of the experience are gone. The dish I ordered wasn't quite as good as usual (only green peppers, previously red and green). Reading the reviews to see what is up it seems the place has been sold. I am disappointed because this was my favorite. I will still go back and try some of the other dishes to see how the new management holds up. I hope it is good and my first time with the new owners was a fluke. The food here was sooo good I am not ready to give it up yet.
Previous Review:
Great Find. I really like this place, they have a ton of selections and the quirky ship decor is fun too. I have only tried 3 entrees so far but plan on going back for more! The pineapple chicken, mango chicken were both great and I liked that it was served in the shell. The thai mango chicken was good too, but I am trying to limit my fried food intake. Looking forward to trying the...
Read moreJust had very disappointing experience. Was so excited to eat their laksa. We loved this dish while living in southeast Asia and traveling in Malaysia. It was watery, bland, used egg noodles instead of rice (odd), no cilantro, didn't taste fish sauce... Just bad. We talked with server about it, asked if they had any chilli oil, "no", anything whatsoever to spunk it up? "No, it tastes like this bc we don't have access to fresh ingredients, the lemongrass is even frozen" How about the Asian supermarket down the road? I literally just bought fresh lemongrass there and used it in a Thai soup at home. I couldn't even taste lemongrass in this soup. We asked that the soup be taken off the bill, I'm still hungry so will have to go eat elsewhere. She argued then finally relented stating she has to pay for our lunch bc there are "no returns". Wow, I suggest she find a better place to work if that's their policy! Bottom line, when a place has a huge menu expect bland frozen...
Read moreUsed to eat at this place weekly with a friend. The folks were friendly, seemed to be family owned (the mom sold packages of home-made cookies) and was just a generally excellent experience.
Then one week we go in, staff has changed completely. The service was indifferent, and after 15 minutes we hadn't gotten water or menus. Wasn't sure what was going on, we asked and were told the other people were on vacation. Okay - that was odd, but everyone deserves time off. Place was busy so...?
Two weeks later we go back. There's nobody familiar there, even from the previous visit. The parking lot was completely empty - went inside and the waitress was rather surly. We didn't stay.
Last week I drove by at our usual time - there were no cars in the parking lot, it looks like nobody has cut the grass around it - and it just generally looked decrepit.
We didn't go in.
Hope they pull it together - but I'm thinking it's not terribly likely which is a...
