Walked into this place and immediately felt 3 levels of stress leave my body. The soft music, greenery, decor, and warm smiles transported me from the dog-eat-dog mean streets of downtown Kenosha into calm and care-free East View Coffee Cotopia as soon as I walked in the door. I'm a lactose-free matcha fiend and I was excited they offered coconut milk as a dairy alternative - thats still fairly rare among small shops. The size of the shop is quite deceiving from the outside. The interior just. kept. going. like an incognito alien ship. They seem to have decent seating and room for meetings and a play area for newer humans. The matcha did notdisappointt! Definitely ground fresh, has good flavor and not overly sweetened. Baked goods looked good also, but I already had my self-imposed recommended daily serving of "desserts". I also discovered they make fresh Dark Chocolate from their on-site roasted cocoa beans!
So I can get a release of negative energy, fresh Dark Chocolate, and fresh ground matcha with coconut milk from the same place?? My answer is "Yes! I will marry you East View....and I'll sign your prenup -no...
Read moreTried this place for the first time. Amazing location and atmosphere. The staff was not chatty but was cordial. They had some interesting seasonal drinks. We tried 2 of them and enjoyed them. The caramel miso latte is a warm, subtle delight. The cherry espresso soda has a warm flavor. It is served over ice and delicious.
The location is very spacious. They have a small meeting room and can accommodate larger groups of people.
Here is what I would consider the cons of this place. They have a loyalty program, and we excitedly grabbed one of the cards and asked for stamps. We were told we couldn't get any stamps bc the only way you qualify is if you drink your coffee in person. I'm sorry, but any patron should be privy to the loyalty program and not just those dining in. Our money spends the same.
The other negative is that almost all their baked items are vegan and gluten-free. I'm not against vegan and gluten free but do think all good coffee shops need to have a solid variety of both for all patrons.
Overall, 4 stars.

Read moreWent in with my Mom today to check out a new place. I got a Chai with Almond milk and honey. Overall the drink was good! However, The service not so much. First of all, I am a barista myself, so when I try a new place I’m looking for how others treat the customers and how everything is run. I know not every place is the same, however at my place of employment we “over explain” how everything works so that our customers have an over and beyond experience! The guy who took our ordered seems to help with the chai, however I asked about the GF bagel options and it was like pulling teeth to get it out of him just to find out they were all out. Atmosphere on the other hand, was not my thing, felt uneasy in there with the type of music they play and whatnot. Also not a fan of all the queer stuff around… Not worth the money- for the atmosphere...
