Raising Cane's I'm going to be honest here. Cane's doesn't have a huge selection in Food Choices. However, some people don't like to look at a Big Menu. It's a chicken joint. Wings, Thighs, Breasts, They got none of that. BUT! what they do have is Chicken Fingers, And Chicken Sandwich. They do have a Kid's Meal, And Since this is a college town. And Kentucky for the most part bleeds, a little Maroon. And a lot of Blue. That's right sports fan have they have a tailgating options. from 25, 50, 75, or 100 CHIIIICCCKKKEENN FINGERS!! To Accommodate Parties going on at the Alumni Coliseum, Dorm get togethers. For your BIG BLUE NATION Parties or Super Bowl Show Downs. Now, let's talk Menu. Starts at the lowest amount of chicken I suppose The 3 Finger Combo. Chicken Fingers, Crinkle Cut Fries, Coleslaw, Texas Toast. Regular Drink, And one Cane Sauce. The Sandwich Combo is 3 chicken Fingers on a Bun Cane Sauce, Fries, Regular Drink. The combo Box. Same deal as three piece but with one extra chicken finger. And Then is the Caniac Combo Six Fingers Fries, Cane Sauce, Texas Toast, Coleslaw Large Drink. Now, Let's review the Food itself cause that's what people are here for. The Meat taste like quality chicken. I'm debating if it's soaked in a brine solution for a period of time or if they have used MSG on the chicken. But the meat is tender and it is Juicy Now unlike Zaxby's it doesn't have as much Flour Power to it. The chicken doesn't have a big crunch feel to it. But on the flip side the over all taste of Cane's Chicken is juicier and doesn't have a dry overall taste to it. I will state that unlike some other Texas Toast that people have tried that has a crispier hard texture and taste. Cane's Texas Toast is light and fluffy softer. Than slicing bread. The fries are good what you'd expect from Crinkle Cut Fries. That Cane sauce is alright too. I don't know about the slaw. I don't general eat slaw. But others have said they like this better than other places. Now, I went inside for Service. And given that there wasn't a whole lot of people their . There was still about 2 or 3 orders in front of me. I was a bit surprised at how fast they cooked and had my order ready. I had two soda cups. And had one filled before my name was called. Staff was friendly. Building was clean. Admitted since this is an unpaid review i'm not going to use my previous experience as a housekeeper to go thru knick and details. But in general looking around everything seemed in order. So that's my review on Raising Cane. Hopefully people find this helpful. And Maltese...
Read moreI am from northern kentucky, in richmond for eku honor band. Saturday. Lunch time. Someone suggest I try raising canes, as I had never had it before. So so pleased. Everything was so fast, everyone was so nice. While looking at the menu, I noticed that you can substitute coleslaw, toast, and fries for another item or extra cane sauce. Coolest thing, considering how picky I am. I get chicken and only Fries (I like bread but I'm too picky about it, didn't even try it.) I saw others and immediately regretted that decision. Sunday, we were having trouble deciding where to go to lunch, someone in my group said, do you wanna just go back to Canes? I was so happy about this decision, immediate yes. Again, everything so fast, everyone so nice. No coleslaw, extra Fries this time. The toast was the greatest bread I've had from a fast food restaurant, regretted not getting an extra piece of toast instead haha. Dinner time came, I didn't eat due to being full from the awesome portion sizes. But after the honor band concert, I was hungry. Instead of going inside, we went through the drive-thru. It was even faster than the inside, and the woman taking the order was so so nice and enthusiastic. The sweet tea is glorious. I have yet to try Florence Canes, but I have heard richmond is much better (thankfully I will be attending eku). Thanks for being so awesome in my three visits...
Read moreGirlfriend and I went here a couple days ago. I ordered a 3 finger combo with toast buttered on both sides (bob toast) and extra crispy fries. Then I ordered an extra bob toast and an extra order of extra crispy fries. She asked if she could pay with her flex card as she is an EKU student, and the kid at the register told us they do not accept it. No big deal I figure we pay with cash. Get our order pretty quick, however the fries were not extra crispy, it was just two regular order of fries. The toast had been buttered on both sides but it was still pretty soft and not nicely toasted like I would get at Lexington locations.
To top it off as we were leaving I noticed the sign by the door, "colonel cash accepted here". Seeing that leads me to believe the kid at the counter either didn't want to do his job, or didn't know how and couldn't care to ask how. I expect a bit more from a place that prides itself on great service and good food.
The food wasn't bad, just wasn't the quality I would expect based off my experiences at Lexington locations.
Update: Visited again today Sept 30th. The 3 finger combo barely had any fries in it this time and the breading was coming off on some of the fingers.
To all of those who visit here and think it is a good experience, I highly recommend you try a Canes in Lexington, so that you can try what Canes should...
