Chapter 4: I was in town for a business trip for a week. This place is on my must visit every time I am in Key West. I met the owner this time and talked. I can't say good enough reviews about their food or dedication.
Chapter 3: Brought our friends that are from Chicago. They loved the thin crust. My friend's wife can't wait to come back. Our regular waiter Damon was on vacation. Also tried more appetizers this time. Still best pizza around. See you on the 3rd of July.
Chapter 2: After almost a year I returned to KW. I had to have Clemente's again. It was just as good if not better than the first time. The supreme pizza was the best I have ever had. My wife tried both salads (yes we ate there twice :) ). She said the croutons were the best she had ever had. I highly recommend going here. The only down side was I wanted to purchase a t-shirt and you didn't have any. We will be down in a few weeks to have pizza and salad again. Thanks for the perfect food!
I have traveled and lived a lot of places across the US. Clemente's pizza is definitely top 3 if not the best in the country. My daughter, who does not like pizza, ate the crust and wanted to go back again. It is a very quaint location with a very friendly staff. Their toppings and ingredients are a 10 out of 10. The thin crust was perfect. The right amount of done and crispiness. I feel like this is a best kept secret among locals. I go to Key West 3 to 4 times a year and going forward this will be a place I visit once...or...
Read moreClemente’s Trolley Pizzeria was the highlight of our visit to the Keys. The ambience was warm and inviting, our server Rob and the owner Angelo were friendly and fun, and the food was delicious. As a family of 5 who loves food, we wanted to try a little of everything, and Rob’s suggestions of how much to order so we could all have a taste without having too much or too little was spot on. The eggplant parmesan that they had on special was enjoyable, and the house salad was crisp and had a good variety of ingredients such as chickpeas and gorgonzola, including a generous portion of tasty avocado. Although we typically don’t prefer thick pizzas, Rob encouraged us to give theirs a try since they sell it by the slice. He was right— it was definitely a cut above any other thick Sicilian pizza we’re tried. However, we also got a round pie, and it was incredible— definitely superior to the Sicilian, and a truly top-notch pizza. Given the reasonable cost of a bottle of their house red wine, it was surprisingly complex and full bodied. As wonderful as all of those items were, they were still bested by the meatballs which were the best we have ever had. We got 2 orders of them and shared them as an appetizer, and they were tender and incredibly flavorful. If we could give Clemente 6 stars, we would. It was a delightful meal in an intimate yet casual atmosphere that felt like we were among old friends in Worcester, Massachusetts or a small...
Read moreWe were looking for something less “tourist” and more authentic for our anniversary dinner in the keys. We had walked past the place a few times and it really called to me. While looking for a good steakhouse that didn’t drench everything in rich cream or something, my wife suggested pizza. I mentioned seeing Clemente’s on our walks. First, service is amazing. We walked in and were greeted immediately by the friendliest people. Since we were staying in a small hotel room, we didn’t want to get a giant meal so my wife and I split the house salad which was far more impressive than a house salad could be imagined. It was fresh and had ample ingredients to showcase the flavors of the mild but perfectly seasoned dressing. We also ordered the Hot peppers and Soppressata pizza. Which was, hands down, the best meal I’ve had in the keys. This is the best pizza I’ve had in a very long time. It may be the best pizza I’ve had in my life and I’m a bit sorry to say that because my lifelong favorite (Giovanni’s Pizza in eastern Kentucky) may have just been beaten. Plenty of locals clearly know this spot. They’d pop in and chat with the proprietors as if they have for decades. No touristy lines of people. Just true, authentic, local perfection in this place. I cannot say enough great things. Excellent food, perfect service, my most memorable meal in Key West. Highly...
