Sunny Eggs 517 Fleming St., Key West, FL 33040 5 Stars This place shines brightly like the proverbial light in the darkness of a morass of tourist traps. On a side note, I accidentally jumped the service line. No one said anything, but I got a few glares. My apologies! This is a quaint little hole in the wall (literally). Vasily is the server today and nailed it in every way a server can. I ordered their Nixon Smoothie and a chorizo Kokot as I had never heard of anything Kokot before I asked my editor to do some research. He came up with a village in Poland. Other than that, it is close to the French word Cocotte and as it does involve eggs cooked in a small dutch oven (cocotte), I'm going with that. I began with the Nixon Smoothie. Named after our 37th President, Richard Milhous Nixon, it was a delicious smoothie of Apricot, Orange, Almond Milk, Yogurt, Honey and Maple Syrup. Sans 18 minutes of recorded conversation (coincidence or just good food prep? You be the judge). I have to say that this was a delight on the palate in the balmy temperatures of Key West. It was light, hearty, and crisp on the palate. Moving on to the chorizo Kokot. As previously mentioned, this was the first I had heard of this; however, looking at the pictures on the menu, I had a good idea about what it was I was ordering. I was not disappointed. This lovingly prepared dish is made of three eggs cooked in a small "kokot" with Creme Fraiche, Dijon mustard, Chorizo paste and freshly grated Parmesan cheese. Pyszny! One does not need to apply any heuristic to conclude that this is NOT a tourist trap. It is a place with GREAT food. "The Big Boy says, "If you're in Key West and you don't eat here, you wasted a trip to Key West."

We were on a summer break only for 2 days and 1 night in Key West. I wanted to try something authentic and local cuisine. We found this place and with the menu and ratings it was hard to pass on it for breakfast. We came early in the morning. At first the place seemed small to me but when we went inside, it has the small but cool feel to it. The bakery items on counter looked so tempting, but we stopped ourselves from getting those and focused on breakfast items. Wifey got lobster kokot, it was nice and different to have seafood in breakfast. I got Shakshuka kokot, it was on OK side. Daugher got Mushroom Kokot, it was good, best among all 3 kokots. My son got chicken sandwich which was really good. We also got cappuccino which was good as well. Overall the experience was good, so if we come back to Key West we might come back here again. Pros: Unique and Food Taste Good Portion Size Good Ambiance. Friendly Staff. Cons: Small sitting space Not suitable for big families. Food Ratings: Mushroom Kokot: 8.5 / 10 Lobster Kokot: 7 / 10 Shakshuka Kokot: 6.5 / 10 Chicken Sandwitch: 7.5 / 10 Cappuccino: 6 / 10 Star Ratings: Flavor: 7 / 10 - Star Authenticity of Flavor: 7 / 10 - Star Cleanliness: 7.5 / 10 - Star Service: 7 / 10 - Star Value for Money: 6.5 / 10 - Star Suggestion for owner: You have a good setup going on, keep it up. Suggestion for customer: It’s a small place, so if you have 4+ people, you might have to sit separately. I believe this format best justifies my review, so I will hopefully continue using it for all my future reviews.

It’s a small place with big taste and vibes! The baked goods looked delectable and the menu is varied with a ton of healthy options including smoothies and juices. This place actually cares how you get a side of avocado and every plate I saw with it had it fanned out all fancy. It’s the little things. Service was immediate and attentive, and it seems like everyone helps across the whole restaurant, not just, “That’s your table, you do it”. Don’t expect there to be a whole lotta room, but you’ll sink into your own world when your food is delivered and not need a lot of space to enjoy. Most breakfast dishes are served in their own mini crockpots, and that really deals in the tastes. Another touch I like were mini cast iron skillets for the home fries! Food was fresh, and prepared with care. Find this hidden gem in Old Town!

Absolutely the best breakfast place in town . The croissants are simply out of this world — perfectly flaky, buttery, and fresh every time. Their breakfast food is equally amazing, made with love and attention to every detail. This place is truly a gem! Every visit is a delight, and I can confidently say they serve the best croissants ( love all) and breakfast food in town. Their fresh juices and smoothies are also amazing — refreshing, vibrant, and the perfect healthy complement to any meal . My personal favorites are the chicken pot pie, avocado toast, croissant with egg, ham and cheese, the chicken sandwich, and their fresh, delicious yogurt parfait — all made to perfection!

The quality is outstanding, and everything tastes like it was made with care and love. But what makes this bakery even more special is the incredible customer service. The staff is always so kind, helpful, and genuinely attentive. They greet you with a smile, remember your favorites, and truly make you feel welcome. It’s always a pleasure to stop by — they brighten your day no matter what. This bakery isn’t just a place to eat; it’s a feel-good experience that keeps you coming back. Whether you’re stopping by for a quick bite or staying for a relaxing breakfast, this bakery is a must. It’s not just a place to eat — it’s an experience that leaves you smiling every...
