Seated on the patio right by the entrance gate was the most distracting experience. The constant opening and closing was driving me crazy. It should either be closed fully everytime or left open during service hours, but my waiter had to keep stepping aside while serving us or having to adjust the gate that was impeding him. But that honestly only took off about half of a star. I do not eat sea food (tragic, I know) so I was limited to ordering the filet mignon as my only option. I ordered the cut medium rare and when I recieved it there was a beautiful sear on the outside but was completely raw on the inside. The grilled asparagus was delicious which I ate waiting to return the plate. My boyfriend loved his mahi. Which I got to watch him finish as I waited for my plate to return. The steak came back somehow, just as rare as I returned it except where my cut mark's were. I didn't bother returning it a second time as my partner had already finished eating. They did not charge us for the meal thankfully, and we did not even ask to remove it from the receipt. That was awesome. This dinner was supposed to be special as I am leaving (military) for the next two years and we wanted a nice date night. Instead I was constantly closing a swinging gate while watching someone else eat their food while cursing my distaste for seafood while making myself a PB&J when we got home. I would have only given 3 stars if they charged us for the meal or if we had to ask for it to be removed. If you like seafood, and dont get easily distracted, definitely grab a seat outside and enjoy the atmosphere. If you dont like fish, well... find a menu around town that has more variety...
Read moreGreat fresh food at a reasonable price. The servers are funny and very personable - they always add to the dining experience. The best dish of the night was the tuna entree. It was perfectly seared. A great crispy pickled cucumber salad came on the side with a couple of well salted wontons and ginger. It was well composed and thoughtfully put together. The only nit was that there were a little too many sesame seeds on the crust but mostly just around the parts that are mostly edge. The wasabi grits were creative and delectible.
Calamari - I liked the breading but overall overcooked and slightly chewy. The dish was not oily though. The sauce on the side was very flavorful and full bodied.
Beef Tips appetizer - pretty good appetizer but didn't realize they were fried - 4 came in a serving. There was a huge salad underneath - might be too big for the appetizer itself but welcome by our table for some extra greens. The dressing on the greens was top notch and had a little kick.
Swordfish - nice portion but not as juicy as other swordfish on the island. I liked the greens and asparagus. Felt like a light healthy meal compared to other dinners that I had in KW.
Chicken Curry - juicy chicken and very mild curry. It could use a little spice by my standard but my mother in law loved it. It was her 6th day of all seafood so a welcome reprieve to all the fish.
Overall we really liked the atmosphere and fresh ingredients. We will be going back during our...
Read moreWas Recommended by a few people when we got there we were taken into A very warm small dining room. The waiter was dressed like he could have been anybody off the street. And along with him came his attitude. The Menu was very limited. Food was pricey, And I live in Palm Beach I'm used to paying. The filet was good, But unfortunately the Caesar salad was very very small and the macaroni and cheese We got ala carte had a very pungent taste. The waiter was not attentive, We had to ask for water twice. We purchased a $50 bottle of wine. It was our last night in Key West and we were there to enjoy it we were not giving attitude or being demanding in anyway. We just wanted a good meal and a nice toast to celebrate our otherwise great trip. To bad we were disappointed with Sarabeths since I had heard it was great. I do understand that everyone has a day and sometimes 1 circumstance can be a Domino effect for restaurant to just have a badd night . But the fact that the menu was so limited I don't know if I would return just because of that alone. But on a positive note my partner wasn't feeling that great he had gotten a little too much Sun earlier in the day. The maitre D, Was very kind and he brought my partner a piece of fruit to take with him when we left thinking it would help him feel better. I appreciated that. As for the waiter, You should dress more uniform and not like he came from a soccer match With his buddies, And lose the...
