Big Thunder Family Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Keystone

"Family" bar and grill is a stretch. We got there and right away the manager told us they hadn't gotten truck yet and could only do drinks or appetizers. We were on a time crunch so we decided to get 2 orders of mozzarella sticks and 2 sodas. We sat at the bar and could see and hear the cook. He was yelling about the waitresses still taking orders and was cursing loud enough for us to hear on the opposite side of the bar. We heard him yelling at the manager about having to cook 2 orders of mozzarella sticks when they were supposed to b closing. We considered canceling our order since it was very obviously an inconvenience for him to make our food. The waitresses were clearly upset and rolling their eyes and having attitude with customers. The manager didn't seem to know what to do and was offering customers the incorrect food that was cooked. The atmosphere was run down and grimey. Light fixures falling apart and dirty counters/cupboard areas. The mozzarella sticks were exploded from being cooked to long. -10/10 will never be...

I’m absolutely appalled by the service we received. We came in as a group of nine to what’s advertised as a family restaurant, yet the lady with short hair made it very clear she did not want to seat us. Her attitude was dismissive, cold, and completely unprofessional. She made no effort to accommodate us and clearly didn’t want to go through the “trouble” of cleaning or arranging tables—even though it’s literally part of her job.

The laziness and unwillingness to provide basic hospitality was shocking. It’s incredibly disappointing to see such poor treatment, especially when you expect warmth and service from a family-oriented establishment. If this is how you treat larger groups, you should rethink calling yourself a family restaurant. We won’t...

Our family stopped in here for lunch after going to the Big Thunder Gold Mine. We enjoyed the food. However, the service left much to be desired. Definitely not attentive or personal. Our server might have been new. Once we received our check, nothing matched menu prices, and our two small children who ordered kid's meals were charged adult meal prices for burgers. The issue was resolved, but the staff at the time seemed inconvenienced by our concerns. I hope the up charges weren't done to deceive travelers, but for this reason, we won't return.
