The comfort Inn and suites at Keystone in Mount Rushmore South Dakota was comfortable and pleasant experience, but there are some things that could be tweaked a little bit to make any perfect stay. We arrive late tonight for our reservation. The computers were down so we have to do a manual check in the staff was friendly, kind and welcoming even late at night throughout the whole day actually all the staff were always greeting and saying hi and checking in with us really appreciate that especially for us. This was our first time in that area. It made it seem more welcoming Some things I did notice. There’s a huge parking space in front of the hotel but you can’t park there cause that’s public works parking and they can tow your car so the parking on site is a bit narrow and limited, but there is parking for customers. Just seems odd to have all that space go to waste. Also, when we got up to our rooms, the rooms were well appointed. We had a Kitchen at Room, but there was some things that were a little off. We found underneath the kitchen at sink old boxes of Dr Pepper soda, and in the corner by the bed near the window. It was a balled up pieces of tissue on the floor, not ideal in terms of room cleanness, but the sheets appeared to be clean so of the towels and so was the bathroom the floor you can’t really tell it looks like it was vacuumed. I don’t know if it was deep cleaned after previous use. The hotel overall appeared fairly quiet. I like the fact that they have a clean laundry room for guest to wash clothing, and the pool that’s indoor was a decent enough size and was clean and towels were readily available. The dining area was kind of small, especially during the breakfast time. A lot of people were taking advantage of the breakfast option so the room can get really quiet. I wish they had a conveyor belt toaster machine. They only had a four slot toaster, and sometimes you would have to wait 10-15 minutes for others to use just to toast your bread also, some of the food looked a little dated like the yogurt in the picture I’ve provided that’s not a good sign. Whoever is dealing with the Food needs to be aware of that and I did tell the hotel staff at the desk also some people have no manners, even though they provided tongs people were still touching some of the bread and meats that were provided with their hands. That’s why I’m not a fan of buffets, especially after Covid. And my only other observation for me, safety aspect they need to have cameras in the hallways multiple occasions we kept finding people dumping bags of takeout by the elevator, which is just lazy and disgusting by the patron they provide bags in your room and there are plenty of trash options on the site to dump your stuff out. People are just disgusting, but I wish they did have cameras just to watch a monitor of the site of people in the hallways just for safety otherwise don’t get fooled of a lot of the hotels in the area. This was one that was open off-season and the staff were ridiculously friendly and kind and the overall experience was clean professional and my family was very happy to be here. It made our first time in the area an enjoyable one and yes, despite my concerns, I would definitely recommend a comfort Inn suites, especially for the price and the staff’s...

We stayed in this hotel last week for 6 nights because of its location. We are Asian and I have South American features. Since the hotel does NOT have housekeeping unless by request, we requested for it twice. The first time got done but the second time "ROB" was at the front desk. We could immediately tell we were not welcome. He had no greeting for us and could not even look straight at us as if we were bothering him in front of his computer. Long story short, we thought the request was in order.||The following night after being out and about the whole day, to our surprise, the room was NOT house-kept. We called front desk. There was another guy who apologized and was kind enough to bring us towels and empty our trash. He told us it will be noted and that it will be done the following day.||We returned the following night only to find out that housekeeping AGAIN did NOT happen. My husband called front desk to ask why and ROB answered. He told my husband to just come down and get what we needed.||So my sister and I went to the front desk. I went straight to ROB seeing there was NOBODY in front of him. Without hesitation, he immediately told me to "STEP ASIDE" for according to him he was with a customer. Seeing NOBODY there, I told him that I am a customer and mentioned my Room Number. AGAIN, he told me to "STEP ASIDE". When I insisted that I am also a customer, he started telling me that I was rude even giving me the "STOP" hand gesture in front of my face more than once as I started asking him if that is how he treats his customers. He then continued telling me how rude I was and that everybody there will say the same as he PROCEEDED entertaining another guest checking in. I STOOD MY GROUND. He finally gave up and ANGRILY asked how many towels I needed, bending underneath the counter in front of him to get them. At that point, I HAD ENOUGH. So he knew I was ONLY there for towels even without me telling him and he could NOT give them to me quickly enough because...? And, he NEVER mentioned the reason why we did NOT get housekeeping in the first place. So I said "Never mind" and my sister and I left.||The next morning was our check out day and we were greeted kindly this time by JULIE. We told her what happened and she quickly apologized on behalf of the hotel and gave me additional points in my CHOICE account.||We left the hotel with a VERY BAD experience that ruined our vacation. I am writing this review to warn others. My sister, my husband and I all agreed. We will NOT be SILENCED and BULLIED. If you are of a different ethnicity or color, STAY AWAY from...
