Most of the other reviews said the Inn was clean. However it was NOT! We got a non refundable rate and I learned to never do that again! The room was so dirty! There was dead bugs in the sink and hairs on the counters (and they didn't look like head hair). The bathtub was also dirty! There was black dirt in the tub and hair also in the tub. We checked for bedbugs which we always do and there was none thankfully! The beds were very uncomfortable and it just was such a bad night. We only stayed for 1 night and I am so glad I hadn't booked for 2. The staff was very kind and helpful but that's about all the good I can say about this place. There's some what of a view of mount Rushmore but not as great as the pictures posted. We aren't the type of family that has to have nice and pretty. We just like comfortable and clean. This place was absolutely neither of those! After a few weeks I did get a response back from the Motel claiming we should have brought all this to their attention. First of all I do not believe we should be the ones to tell YOU your Motel is dirty. I have a cleaning business and I do checks on all of my workers work. There is no excuse why a Motel/Hotel room should be filthy. This was not from a couple's of days of not being cleaned. I also have 4 kids and know how dirty things can get, again I know this was not dirt from a couple of days. Second of all the Motel was booked solid so there was no way we could switch out rooms. Plus like I mentioned before we got a Non...

Check in took over an hour because the check in agent was apparently being trained that day. The trainer just left him to figure out how to check people in and had zero regard for whether guests were tired from long driving days. This lead to a very frustrating check in experience.

The poor check in experience was expounded by the fact the check in agent who was being trained was having lengthy conversations of zero consequence with many of the more elderly guests (for example- he had a 10 minute conversation about camper trailers with the guest).

When the check in agent realized that people were getting frustrated, he made the misguided decision to blame the guests for “arriving at the same time when check in was at 3”.

The room was extremely disappointing and did not have a view of the monument. The room was outdated and poorly appointed and had no easily accessible bedside outlets, no fridge, dated bedding and decor and the hotel had non functioning WiFi. The hotel also had no coffee available in the morning and the parking lot was on a slope making baggage was difficult to maneuver.

The beds were very comfortable to sleep in, but I had to provide my own pillow since the hotel decided to only provide two pillows per queen bed.

I would not recommend people stay here unless you enjoy spending an excessive amount to stay in a property with the same quality standards that low budget properties...

We were told "all rooms have refrigerators" when we called the hotel after we made the reservations. When we checked in, our room did not have a refrigerator. We were then told we could switch to another room for $45 more per night. We chose to not pay the extra $180+. The website still shows they DO have a breakfast. We were told no they don't. Room was clean and comfortable. The young girl at the desk was not nice, no apology for their mistake. She showed no empathy for our inconveniences at all. The other lady was very nice. She's new and a little older...not old but not in her 20's either. The ice machine was only on the ground floor so it was a trip every time we needed ice since we did not get the refrigerator we requested. Needless to say, we won't stay here again and we will recommend to our friends to not stay here. Oh yes, the phone wasn't working either so we mentioned that to the girl at the desk and she said well most people have cell...

Close to the Monument. Yes it has a view from the parking lot. Pictures attached. $162 a night Only 2 towels for a room that sleeps 4. No kleenex. No microwave in room No coffee maker in room AC unit sound like it wants to crawl out of the wall & eat you in your sleep combined with a digital alarm clock sound all night. Also only 1 disabled parking spot for the entire hotel. Also, parking in scarce close to the rooms. More rooms than spaces.

Excellent location. Good distance from the main street so it was quiet, but still only maybe a five minute walk from everything in town. You can see the side of one of the presidents on Mount Rushmore from the parking lot. Very much enjoyed our stay here, and would book again next time I'm in town.

Location is great. So close to all the local attractions. View of Mt. Rushmore from hotel. Room was clean. Very nice accommodation. Reasonable in price considering staying during the 4th of July
