I had seen people online eat here and say good things about the Khan’s so I decided to try it out with 3 friends. Once we arrived we got seated immediately in a nice large booth big enough to seat up to 6 people. The restaurant was very nice and clean, it was pretty spacious. Our waitress came to welcome and greet us, she took our drink orders, brought us our appetizers and explained how we make our meal. She was very polite and even bilingual which is always a great! We went up to prepare our bowls and the process was easy to understand and to do. It’s done buffet style, you get a tray and bowl and go down the line picking your proteins, veggies, add-ons and at last your noodles and sauces. There’s no complaining about the food because you're the chef!😆 Once you’re done you leave your tray on the counter for the gentlemen at the grill to cook it for you. Here is the reasoning behind my 3/5 star review. We watched a couple of people get seated after us including a large party of about 6 people and they all received their food back before us, we waited almost an hour to have our bowls come back to us. During this time we needed some refills but our waitress never came back to check on us. We saw her attending the booth after us and tables around us but never came back to us. Once another young lady brought over our food we asked her for refills and that’s when our waitress noticed we needed something and came to check on us. My friends and I enjoyed our bowls but the chicken seemed undercooked as it was very light colored, I was not the only one to notice but my friends who chose to put chicken in their meal also saw this. I eventually took out the chicken in my bowl and put it aside on a napkin to finish the rest of my bowl. I don’t like the idea of putting the raw proteins in the same bowl as all of the other ingredients, or having no utensil in the line to make sure the seasoning is nicely coated on all of the protein or especially having undercooked meats in your meal. Hopefully you guys take into consideration having a separate bowl for the the proteins,...
Read moreUpdated review (Oct '24): After enjoying this place last year, had to make a return visit. Food was wonderful - very fresh and lots of options (variety of protiens from beef, chicken, scallops, shrimp, tofu, etc..., plus a wide range of veggies). Plenty of different spice combinations & sauces to add flavors to your stir-fry. As noted in my original review, it can be a bit of a challenge as to how use the spices/sauces to get the best flavors for you, but its fun to experiment. On this visit, they had a beer & wine license, so we were able to enjoy some beers as well as sake. Will definitely return on future visits.
Original review (Oct '23): Really like the concept - make your own combination for stir-fry. The food was really fresh, and it was fun to put together my own combination of meats (chicken, beef, scallops, shrimp, etc...) and veggies (lots to choose from). They had different spices that you could add to your dish (5 spice powder, curry, garlic, etc...), as well as different sauces. You have to be willing to try putting together some combination that will work for you, which can be challenging. I used too much of their house blend w/ basil sauce (I like thai basil), and I ended up with a pretty salty flavored dish from all of the soy sauce in the house blend. So next time, I'll need to resist the temptation of the house blend w/basil. But the food was very good, and the cook who is preparing it does a great job. Would definitely recommend this place. Only real short-coming is that they only offer pepsi products to drink. Not sure if they would allow BYOB or not - but that could be a way to allow patrons to enjoy some wine or beer...
Read moreUPDATE: We went back on January 1, 2022 for a New Year Day meal. I don't remember our waitresses name, and I am not sure if it was a language issue or what exactly, but she treated my husband and I differently than she did other customers in the restaurant. When my husband asked her about it, she said "It depends on the customers attitude" (huh?!?!) He asked her "Weren't we polite to you?" And she said yes. So I don't know what she meant by her graciousness not extending to us as other customers based on their attitudes. We were really nice to her. I mean, it took some of the enjoyment away from our visit. We drove 3 1/2 hours JUST to come eat here. I don't know about plans to come back. I was disappointed. It just wasn't the same. 🤷🤦🥺 Our first time here! We loved it. Wonderful, friendly service. Good quality meat and vegetable choices! You choose and put in your bowl to take to the cook and it is cooked fresh. Yum Yum! We will be going back! This is a must go to place if you are in Kitty Hawk and want something other than seafood or...
