So, on the very first occasion I went it was actually quite amazing. They had large pieces of drumstick, and it was really well cooked and they really went out of the way to provide great customer service except they complained that one of our kids didn’t want the salad inside the burger and when I requested on the side, it seemed to be a major pain for them.
On the second occasion that we went, the drumsticks were under done and raw, and instead of actually going and cooking them properly, they came back with 2 drumsticks out of 6 refried and then gave smaller pieces of chicken instead of 4 more drumsticks. the owner was actually dining right there next to us, and he was justifying and making excuses as far as why they were not cooked, saying it was different sizes and not the same supplier etc. etc. But he forgot that I was there on the first time around and they actually did correct.
So now I give a third opportunity to get this right and I go back and notice the drumsticks are off the menu and the reason I was given is apparently they take too long to cook. The chicken pieces that were available are a lot smaller and more expensive and mostly bone. It came out dry and the same server that was there that complained about having the salad on the side for the burger, ignored us and then came back with an attitude. We asked for knives but she bought us back spoons. She came back again with an attitude. It was absolutely horrendous service so we will never go back.
I think it’s important though to note that in the food industry, you need to really be mindful and very patient that you want to give people what they pay for and keep it consistent. so rather than cutting corners, make an effort to get your system of frying correct and offer what you did from the beginning. you’re lucky you’re in Kirkland because people pretty much eat anything and don’t complain, which is a reason why we lack a lot of quality and consistency.
And before you judge me, I have lived in Montreal, Melbourne, Australia and New York, and I know exactly what food is and I have worked in...
Read moreExtremely Disappointed with the Unwelcoming Waiter
My recent experience at Kokio Chicken Bistro left me incredibly disappointed due to the unprofessional behavior of one particular waiter. Despite arriving during their business hours and observing other customers enjoying their meals, the waiter rudely denied us the opportunity to dine in, claiming the restaurant was closed.
It was evident that the restaurant was open, as there were other patrons being served at their tables. However, the waiter's attitude was dismissive and unwelcoming, leaving us feeling ignored and disrespected. The lack of courtesy and customer service was truly disheartening, as we had been looking forward to trying their cuisine and enjoying a pleasant food experience.
As a customer, I believe it is essential to be treated with respect and fairness, regardless of the circumstances. Unfortunately, the waiter failed to uphold this basic principle, which significantly marred what should have been an enjoyable evening. Such behavior is inexcusable and reflects poorly on the restaurant's reputation.
I hope that Kokio Chicken Bistro takes this feedback seriously and addresses the issue promptly. I believe in giving second chances, but this experience has left me hesitant to return or recommend this establishment to others. Improved training and a commitment to providing exceptional customer service would go a long way in preventing similar incidents in the future.
Overall, my experience at this place was overshadowed by the unprofessionalism of the waiter. I sincerely hope that they can rectify these issues to create a more welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere for all...

Atmosphere: spacious, seems like most orders are ToGo/PickUp.
Service: wait to be seated, scan the QR code at the table, order taken at the table when you are ready, you will be watered, food brought to you, check brought to you, boxes for leftovers available upon request.
Menu: QR code located on the metal trash bins on the table. Photos available for the main items, mainly names and brief descriptions.
Complimentary cabbage salad: it was very crunchy and fresh, the dressing was creamy, sweet and every so slightly tangy.
Yakisoba: great noodle to topping ratio. Pretty much at least one topping in every noodle bite. The veggies had a very nice blanched texture and were added a light crunch to each bite. The sauce was as tad on the sweet side for me though.
Fries: lightly seasoned and crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. I found I could eat these plain without the need for a dip.
Original Fried Chicken: Very flaky and lightly crunchy. The chicken inside was brined nicely and was very...
