Went here for a 31st Dec dinner. Had a reservation at 9pm, reached on time. First look at the place, and it was a quaint and very quiet place. The tables are placed quite close to one another. We waited to be checked in and showed to our table. In the meantime, I saw a server cross me a couple of times. I smiled, he looked at me and looked away. He went to his table, exchanged hand shakes and hugs with a few folks there, thanked them for coming in and wished them a new year. Passed me again and again looked away. Felt very out of place from that moment onward. The server showed us to our table momentarily. I started looking at the excellent wine collection they have. And frankly it was quite elaborate. The server came and told us about the specials. Said he would get us the bread. The bread came after the appetizer. Had put down special occasion of anniversary as well, but no mention was made through out. The server wasn't rude but we just felt unwelcomed and he was just doing his job. He checked on us a few times and refilled our wine from time to time. Usually for special occasions, the staff do make some mention of it, get a desert perhaps on the house, but nothing of that sort happened. We weren't asked for any food allergies either. As we ordered a bottle of wine, we were savoring it. Another server who was filling up our water glasses, he came in front of our table and checked his watch. That made me so uncomfortable, I gulped whatever wine was left and said I would wait at the car while my husband used the restroom. While leaving, I wished happy New Year and thanked the same guy who checked his watch. Blank stare is all I got.
I would really like to rate the place for the awesome food which, was perhaps one of the best cooked Italian meals we had, but the service did put a damper on the whole thing.
I would recommend this place for food, and if you like to whisper while talking cause man this place was quiet.
Wine: Frescobaldi 2013 Appetizer: bruschetta (really nice bread, which wasn't too hard. Love every bite of it) Main course: crepelle ricotta e spinaci (spinach crepes cooked like lasagna. Amazing!) Chicken marsala (chicken was stuffed with cheese and spinach. Potatoes were a great hit with the Marsala...
Read moreI have noticed this place for a long time before deciding to step in. The reason is I saw many good reviews for the place but Everytime I passed by, it always looked pretty empty. Honestly I just saw some good reviews but i didn't actually read them before my friend and I came here. So we were surprised to see how nice of the place inside is. They have good seatings outside but the day we went there it's pretty chilly so sitting inside was a better option. The decor is nice and very cosy. The staff is super nice and attentive and I heard some of the staff spoke Italian with each other so to me, that's a good sign. We got lost in the menu since they provide many choices. I love the fact that they do a lot of classic dishes here, especially pasta dishes. We ored the mussels and clams garlic for appetizers, my friend ordered a pasta and myself went with one of their 3 special dishes of the day which was fish. Like other Italian restaurants they give you free breads to start with. We love love their Italian breads. They are fresh baking, smell so good and taste awesome. We used the bread to dip in the sauce of the mussels dish. It tasted like heaven for us. I don't remember what type of pasta my friend ordered but it tasted really good also, she even told me it tasted almost the same like what she had in Italy. Unfortunately I didn't like my dish. It's a tuna, and they cooked it. I loved all of the roasted veggies go with the dish tho, very flavorful. However the fish was well cooked and bland. I blamed myself for the bad choice though. Basically the dishes have a decent portion here. Since we crazily ate too much fo the bread earlier so both of us couldn't finish our main dishes. My friend didn't drink so we decided to have water only. So one appertizer, 2 main dishes we paid around 80$. I definitely want to go back where to try...
Read moreMade a reservation a long time ago to get a table here for Valentine’s day evening. I was very disappointed with the service yesterday. Upon entering the restaurant, I was greeted with “What’s the name” instead of a hello or good evening. Our server very rudely denied our request for a side of fettuccine. Our server simply dropped off our food and check without making eye contact as if we don’t exist and have no business eating there. This is my third time eating here and the service has been sub-par the last two times however this was the final straw. Thought I could give it another try but it’s just not worth it. The food is great and in the past I never really thought customer service was a big deal, but for the price we’re paying and for the occasion, our server’s attitude was egregious and definitely ruined our evening vibe. However to give credit where it’s due our waiter did wish us a happy valentine’s day after reaching our table and said thanks upon picking up the checkbook.
Name under the reservation is Avi if the staff is curious.
Been noticing under other poor reviews that the owner comments something like “we hope you’ll give us another chance”…my question to you is, why should we give your restaurant another try? What will be done to redmediate this poor service? Will i have the ability to choose a different server so that i dont end up with the same horrible...
