This location should either be shut down or every employee should be fired. I have never had a dining experience like that in my life, i felt like i was in the nexus of hell. The service is so bad my wife and i were calling it steak 'n shank. Every employee from server to manager flat out ignores you in hopes that you will go away, which we did on the first day we tried to get food there. We walked inside to be seated because the drive through looked backed up. As soon as we entered the restaurant an angry man came in yelling that he was sitting in the drive though for a half an hour waiting. They ignored him along with us until we were at the front of a line of about 15 people waiting to be seated, and only one female employer acknowledged our existence but offered no assistance to sit. After waiting and being ignored for about 15 minutes some police officers came in to talk to the manager, apparently they had just fired an employee, and he flipped out and started destroying stuff. We thought maybe this was a special circumstance so we left and came back the next day. Nothing changed, the drive through was still being ignored as were we. The servers were all just hanging out eating their own food at the bar. Only one table was occupied so i assume the food they were making was for themselves as the employees were all just sitting at the bar eating and hanging out. The one girl that was working busting tables accidentally dumped all the food she was putting in the bust trays. This time i didnt wait nearly as long before leaving. As we walked out a homeless man was waiting and asked for some money, we gave him 3 dollars and jokingly asked him if we had to know someone to get served here. He was so happy for the money he took us back inside and asked all the employees who was gonna serve us. Most of the employees acted like they werent on the clock until the manager came over to take my order personally. She was the most miserable one there and should be replaced immediately. She took my order, and i got my food immediately. The order was wrong in every way and they didnt even give me everything i ordered but i was happy to get anything.the entire experience felt like i had to beg for my food or they would spit in it anyway. I bought the homeless guy a burger to and gave him a few more dollars so ultimately, i guess you have to know someone there to get served. At the end of the day the food was really good but good luck getting some as it took me 2 days and a homeless man to get served. We went to another location in sarasota, got our food instantly and couldnt believe, so its obviously this location thats the problem. Read moreIt's rare that I take the time to review service at restuarant that has disappointed me. However having to sit through such a dreadful experience prompted me to do so. In an attempt avoid wasting anyone's time I will summarize the top 5 most horrific things I experienced during this visit.
When first walking into the restaurant around 9:45 or so I received a very kind greeting, not from the staff mind you, but the inch of grease caked on the floor causing most employees and customers to slip and slide around. Through the entirety of my visit there were almost 6 slips that I had witnessed. The staff claimed that they had "accadently used the kitchen mop" to "clean" the dining room. Which assures me that their kitchen is no friends of mine.
The second thing was the lack of service and functionality. The servers seemed to be in a frantic panic. Running around not acknowledging the people asking for their attention. Not to mention that it took 15 minutes to be seated by a host who had reluctantly stared and gave us the one minute sign over and over again.
Third, Once finnaly being seated as to be expected there was nobody to take our orders and when someone finnaly did show up they quickly stated for us "hold on one second" and never came back. At least the fruit flies were anxious to take our orders.
Fourth, once we finnaly got a server (a new one) the food took well over an hour. I wouldnt call that fast food. Let alone quick service. Did I mention we were not able to escape until after midnight?
And lastly I would feel bad to not mention that out of everything the second server who we had gotten was actually very nice and helpful. Unfortunately he was so busy trying to attend to everything else we barely got to see him. By the time we finished our food we had to wait an unnecessary amount of time for our bill. I probably could have gotten in my car and paid at the drive through faster than the register at the counter. Realistically I could have even driven 2 hours to get home and been served food at the Steak and Shake near my hometown exit all the way in Vero Beach before I got my food at this location.
Overall I am unable to leave a 0 or 0.5 star review. So Steak and Shake. It's your lucky day. You get one star for your horrible service. At least the food was not terrible. I bet I would regret saying that if I could have a look in your kitchen or back of house.

Read moreSHUT IT DOWN! I placed my order at 7:00 pm for 2 combos, a #14 and a #16. I added a birthday cake milkshake and a lemonade. Paid for it at the driveup window at 7:06 p.m., then was told to pull behind another car already waiting for their order. It's now 7:16 then 7:26! No one has come out with my order, nor the other vehicle who had already been waiting in front of me.
We are now at about 25 minutes wait time, when I go inside to inquire about my order. I asked a female who approached the counter if she was the manager and she responded, yes. I hand her my receipt and ask about it's ETA. She takes my receipt and proceeds to open her register to give me back the amount in cash. I told her I was not wanting a refund I wanted my order, to which she responds it'll be a few minutes.
While standing at the counter I overhear other people complaining that they have received the wrong orders. So she's just swapping the bags back and forth across the counter to the correct owner. One lady asks if any of her food had already been touched by the other person who received it in error.
The restaurant is a pig-sty and management obviously doesn't have a clue what they're doing.
So 40 minutes later I am handed a bag which unfortunately I didn't bother to check. At that point all I wanted to do was get out of there!
I had two combos, one was a burger that should have been accompanied by fries and coleslaw. The other was a chicken tenders combo also accompanied by fries and coleslaw.
I got to the car and opened the bag to find, one burger, one set of tenders, one order of fries and a cookie. After all the time I wasted, they couldn't even get the order right 😡
