I don't know why, but I was craving McDonald's chicken nuggets. I haven't had them in about a year. I guess I was thinking of the old ones that were more plump and juicy, I don't know. But, what I received was flat and overcooked. Now, it could have been because I asked if they were not fresh to please cook some fresh ones because it was about 4:00 and no one else was in line and when I was at the stop light, I noticed no one was went thru the drive thru that whole time. So, you could tell it was slow and I really didn't want old or cold nuggets when I was craving them and I hadn't had them in a year. I shouldn't have done it because I've been losing weight, 55 pounds, but every once in awhile I'll give in to something like that. Well, not only were they flat and overcooked, they made me pull forward and wait about 7 minutes for them, when it only takes about 2-3 minutes to cook them in the deep fryer! Not cool, but I guess that was my punishment for asking for food to be fresh! I knew better than to ask for a vanilla cone, which is another item I really like there. But, ALMOST every time you go to the Kitty Hawk McDonald's, their machine is never working. It's almost like someone intentionally breaks it...
Read moreA must-experience for the traveler to the Outer Banks, or as a post-goute as she departs. The queue was a stationary experience, as we formed a straight line, single file, cradling McDonalds in a counterclockwise direction. While the clockwise experience du service is becoming more popular back chez nôtre, ordering a là americaine continues to be the authentic.
We ordered seamlessly, with two sandwiches, beverages, and vegetable side dishes. The attendant winked knowingly through her HiDef screen over a shared ribaldry: With the shake machine "frozen," in her vernacular we together settled on a "Co-Cola" as a substitute. The high resolution screen reflected our change of order with a visual crosshatch and an immediate correction to our order.
Continuing contre le montre (ooh, exquisite), we paid in cash—dining dangerously in these unprecedented times— receiving $10.03 in "cash money," to turn a phrase. We were pleased to find an extra burger du fromage in our sac! Lessez les bonne tiemps rouller! We retired to Trinitee Park, about 2 km away, to dine Al fresco as the traffic on Rte 158 cleared.
As always, the cuisine is better tasted than seen, and it tastes the same as in Nice or in Strasbourg. It is being...
Read moreAlways out of items and difficult to get refunds. Bad with mobile orders. 1st time I had a regular order and added on 2 pies, which the app let me order, when I pulled up to receive my prepaid order they told me they were out of pies, nonchalantly, like a "sorry, bye" tone. I asked for a refund on the pies and it took 15 min between at least 4 employees to figure out how to refund a partial mobile order. One time I waited at the drive through window for 14 minutes for 1 med latte. I had wait a previous 20 min in the drive through behind 1 single other car! This last time I wanted to use some rewards points id saved up from getting my kids happy meals now and then to treat myself. So I used them via app for the large coffee. They have me pull up to the window to tell me they're out again. 0 offers of substituion, or even courtesy. Just some kid asking an unseen manager in the back the same questions I'm asking him and looking at me with a blank face. I was told to deal with corporate to get my points back but that's pretty much impossible so I'll chalk it up to another loss at kitty...
