Paul’s Oasis — Restaurant in Knoxville

I had gone to this place years ago and it was really fun but a friend and I decided to check it out yesterday and unfortunately were very disappointed. It's a hole in the wall (which we normally love) with pool tables and games and a small crowd of what I would assume to be regulars. We asked if 2 of the seats at the bar were taken and the bartender said someone had just left. So we sat down and waited.... and waited.... and were never served?? It was fairly early (7ish), not crowded, and the bartender completely ignored us....as in... looked straight at us several times and went out of her way to avoid us and even follow up with other patrons in the bar that had full drinks to see if she could refresh them and never even greeted us. It was BIZARRE. We have both been servers and bartenders in the past so we had been very patient and knew that she saw us so we were completely shocked when we realized that she wasn't actually busy and she was just flat out ignoring us. Everyone has bad days but I would NOT recommend this place as you may not even get a beer. We finally got up to walk out and I tried to get her attention just to ask honestly if we were missing something (we were very confused by the obvious rudeness) and she looked over at us and then practically ran to one of the tables on the other side of the bar. So we left... and I apologized to my friend who was from out of town for the very rude...

I've only ever ordered food to go from here because the location is filled with smoke, which I'm highly sensitive to. With that being said, everyone I've encountered has been extremely nice and wonderful to deal with! They have great wings which are always sizable and never soggy, and I'm obsessed with their fried pickle spears with ranch. I'm extremely picky about my ranch and this place nails it! It reminds me of a thinner version of Hidden Valley. And their blue cheese dressing is phenomenal, too! Both are made fresh, in house and the chunks of blue cheese...

Definitely a great place to hangout with friends old and new. Love LB, Micki, Sarah and Kristi! They are hard-working, friendly, professional and always make you feel right at home.

Of course a good bar food menu is available (chicken wings, pizza and pizza rolls, French fries and more) that is really delicious and Paul’s is known for having very reasonable prices for their drinks.

They have karaoke night on Friday and live bands on Saturday. Free pool is from Sunday through Wednesday.
