I am an executive marketing manager for a world wide, well-known movie theatre company visiting the area for my wife's birthday on Saturday 02/09/19. And I will tell you why my Applebee's Grill and Bar located at 5363 Kyle Centre Dr, Kyle TX 78640 has been my worst experience ever in a dinning extravaganza. It all started when my wife decided to eat at this location instead of familiar restaurants like Texas Roadhouse or Olive Garden. I called ahead while driving to reserve or be on the waiting list for a party of 12. the host said that they were not allow to put guests on waiting list over the phone. Unfortunate almost all locations and competitors does have this option even online. When we got there, 5 children and 7 adults, were told that it was going to be a 45 minutes wait. We decided to wait and the nightmare started. After 45 minutes we were told that it was going to be another 30 minutes. And after 30 minutes were told another 10-15 minutes. The right side of the restaurant was completely closed and empty. They told us that they don't have servers for that area. Yes they don't have servers to walk 5 more feet to get to the table on that side. After more than one hour and thirty minutes we decided to seat separately. Yes a special event, sitting separately in order to get a table right at the moment. I'm not making this up, the host told us that the manager decided to leave one table open and put together the one on the other side in order to let options for other guests. The kids were crying because they were hungry that one of the adults had to walk across the street to get McDonalds during the wait. The other kid told the host that he was thirsty and not even a glass of water was offered. When we sat, I'm not making this up, 20+ for drinks, 35 minutes for appetizers and almost another hour for the main course. When you reading this have this in mind: This numbers are REAL, I'm not making this up, we have evidence and recording of the times. After talking to "the manager", because one of the party got the ribs burned and almost bones, the kid was so hungry that he ate half and they still wanted to charge for half of that plate. What is sad is that the manager said "Well I'm sorry its Saturday night and busy", with half of the restaurant empty and another party of 8 that got to the location got stead immediately they got there, while we were waiting for the appetizers, and got serve before us. This racist experience is unacceptable and I want people to know that this location is a fiasco. Not even a "sorry for the wait" or "I apologized for the experience." Don't waste your time, if you speak Spanish go some place else, they will make you wait forever and skip people...
Read moreI dined here for lunch with my BF on 8/8/2021 @ 11:15am. Our server was not very smart at all. (Receipt said Jazmine, but she never told us her name.) We started off with our drinks, sweet tea no lemons. She brought out our teas WITH lemons. My BF is allergic to citrus, which is why we always add "no lemon" when we order our drinks. Then, I finish my glass before our appetizer arrives and she asks me if I want a refill. Well, if I don't get a refill, I wont have anything to drink when the food arrives,...of course I want a refill! The refill arrives with NO ice and a lemon! My goodness, can she not remember that we want NO lemons? I told her again that my BF is allergic to lemons and she continued to bring lemons to the table! Well, we ordered from the 2 for $22 menu. My BF ordered the cheeseburger, add bacon, no tomato. (He's allergic to all citrus and tomatoes.) I ordered the fiesta lime chicken plate with rice. We had the onion rings for the appetizer. Our server walks away, but then turns around immediately and asks if we want the appetizer to come out before our food or with our food. Really? She asked this question!?!? It is called an appetizer for a reason! I finished my second glass of sweet tea by the time the onion rings came out. My drink glass sat empty the whole time we ate our appetizer. The server even came over towards our table, but never got me a refill until after she served us our meals. Guess what she asked? "Do you want a refill?" Really? OF COURSE I WANT A REFILL!!! If my glass is empty, refill it! How hard it that when the place only has 4 tables occupied? I get about half way through my meal and realize, I am going to puke. I run to the bathroom and vomit up everything. The toilet seat was covered in my vomit. I did use some paper cloths to wipe it clean, and I also met my server outside the bathroom at the bar. I told her and the bartender about me vomiting in the bathroom and that they may wanna get someone in there with a cleaner. I did not get a chance to sit down afterwards, my BF was already walking to the exit door. He paid full price for everything, leaving no tip. I really wish restaurants would hire better staff, or train...
Read moreThe restaurant was not very busy when we arrived, but it still took 10 minutes to get sitted. It then took another 15 minutes before our waitress came around to get our drink order. After she left, we noticed that we had been set up with 10 plates, but no utensils. It took another 10 minutes to bring our drinks except for my wife's coffee. Our order was taken, and she went to input the order. We told her that we also wanted to put a to go order, but she ignored us. 5 minutes later she brought the coffee, but it was ice cold. It took almost 20 minutes before we were able to flag her down to get hot coffee. She said it would be a few minutes, because it was being brewed. When the coffee finally arrived, it was hot, but it turned out to be instant coffee, so we were confused why it took so long. It arrived 5 minutes before the food arrived. My wife's and grandchildren food came first, she got distracted, and about 10 minutes later my daughter and my food came out. At this time my wife asked for A1 sauce and Tabasco. We later asked for the same, and finally got the A1 sauce just before finishing our steak. She came back a couple of minutes later as we were finishing and asked if we still wanted the Tabasco. We at this time reminded her that we had wanted to go orders also, she took them and input the order and had to wait another 30 minutes. We arrived at 4, got our food at 5:30, and after putting in the to go orders that we tried to put in at the beginning, finally got to leave at 6:20. We were never asked if we needed refills. Our food must have sat for a while, because it was tepid. The streaks were supposed to be medium, but came out well done and dry, not juicy at all. At least the ribs and sides were tasty. Will not be back for a long time. It's been almost a year since I last went because of...
