Mr Gatti's Pizza — Restaurant in Kyle

We tried this place twice. The first time we ordered, they took the order and said it would be about 30 minutes. Ok, no problem. We wait, and wait, and wait with 30 minutes come and gone. 45 minutes... an hour... still nothing.

1 hour 15 minutes, we call to ask what's up and the manager on duty tells us they are using Door Dash for delivery and they have to wait for a driver from Austin to be available to come to Kyle to pick it up but they tell me it will be any second now, so I agree to wait.

1 hour 30 minutes goes by and nothing. Finally I call back at 1 hour 45 minutes and ask what's up and they say no driver has become available yet, so we cancel the order and go to Pizza Hut.

Not knowing that this whole Door Dash thing was permanent (assumed it was because they were busy and needed extra delivery help), we decided to try a second time. We ordered their special 1 large 3 topping for $12.99. By the way, Pizza Hut has a 1 large 2 topping pickup for $7.99, but we have always been huge Mr Gatti fans. We order with extra sauce and a pan pizza.

They tell us the wait will be about 45 minutes. I roll my eyes, but say ok and hope they redeem themselves. Well, it did arrive at about the 45 minute mark, but what we got was the thinnest pizza you could imagine. Picture cardboard with a sprinkle of cheese and a few toppings.

I've had their pan pizza in the past and I know what it should look like and this wasn't it. On top of that, there was no extra sauce and to say the pizza was cold upon arrival is an understatement. You know how pizza gets kind of hard when sitting out a while? Yeah, that was this. Traditional pizza delivery persons have those pizza warmers they transport it in for a reason... to keep the pizza warm. The door dash guys do not use those as the pizza just sits on their seat until delivery while getting cold.

It was cold and unfulfilling and after the total came to almost $19 total with delivery, we decided we're never going back again. Pizza Hut it is from now on....

This place does not want to hire drivers to get the product to customers. They have contracted with doordash and do not care about customer service. I appreciate doordash as a service but I wish they would take care of their 1099s. They bust their buts and should be classified as W2 Employees. This service has gone down hill. I will not give doordash the respect of being called a company because they refuse to take care of their fair share of taxes for their EMPLOYES. I am from Austin Texas and can say Gatti's Pizza has always been the best. They have found shortcuts and they are now in my book the most horrible place now. I started with the William Cannon location and even though it was not the best neighborhood the service was second to none. I always was in love with the detail that they showed. I raised a family very close to that place. Pizza friday was a regular thing. I have 4 children and did a little math. I have been a customer since 2007 I have spent over 3600.00 there and with delivery and am so angry with the Kyle location. I will never order there Again. I know there are other chains we can buy from and enjoy but I really feel we should take care of local Pizza Biz My advice is pls explore and stay away from this place. If you are new to K yle or Austin and are use to unsatisfactory standards be my guest. I Am from Austin Texas and this is unacceptable. Pls do not respond to my review. This is not a attempt for you to try to make it...

Please just pay delivery drivers like any normal pizza place and quit going through door dash for your deliveries or they will ruin the reputation of this place. I assumed they had drivers just like any pizza place I’ve ever ordered from, the website doesn’t say they go through door dash. I wasn’t informed of this until I waited over an hour for my pizza to get here just to be told that the driver couldn’t get into my complex and simply left.... I provided the gate code and very specific instructions on where my building is. Which is right in front, you don’t even need to get into the gate to get to my building as they could’ve walked through the office at this time of the day.... sorely disappointed, was even more shook when they told me they gave MY pizza to the delivery driver who didn’t even make an attempt to call me with my order. I live in front of the building and spend a lot of time on my patio and didn’t see anyone having trouble getting into the gate... Definitely won’t be ordering from this location again. I can also see from the reviews I’m clearly not the only one with...
