Got seated at 7:15… at 7:21 our waiter finally came over. Got our drinks a few minutes later and we ordered our appetizer with our food. Our waitress then tells us they were out of chicken nuggets for our daughter so we ordered spaghetti…. Our appetizer came out at 7:50 along with our daughter’s food (they miraculously found some more chicken nuggets) we waited and waited for our food to come out… which didn’t come out until 8:15…. The fans inside are on too high which cools down all of your food within minutes. We were finally ready to go, after we had told our waitress we were ready for the check 7 more minutes had gone by. She walked by us 3 times.. and the 3rd time she said “it’ll just be 3 minutes” she was trying to go to another table outside. I had enough. Made her check us out right then and there. While she was checking us out the bartender came over with a small plate of food.. you guessed it, another order of chicken nuggets which they apparently were “out of”… wow. By the time we walked out it was 8:45… while we were there we noticed 3 tables unhappy with the service, half the tables had food, half the tables were waiting, it wasn’t ridiculously busy, even for a Saturday night. One of the bartenders apparently needed crackers for some people at the bar he just walked up to a table with 8 people and took them, poor thing was scavenging for some. Suggestions for owner: get a busboy, even just 1 will make a difference, get more servers, oh also make sure your servers each have a device to take orders and check people out, our server had to borrow some from other servers. And PLEASE turn the fans down a bit. Kinda sucks that the food gets cold so fast after waiting an hour for it come out. And train your staff to communicate earlier with their tables on the status of the kitchen...
Read moreI was seated quickly. I’ve seen this place through two changes of ownership. The decor is beautiful. Two tables were seated after me and at least greeted by their server and received drinks before me. After the maitre de saw me just sitting, a man came up and said do ya know what ya want? So I gave my order, the gumbo came out quickly. It was just okay. I’m used to a bit more flavor and spice. The fish chunks were larger than I’m used to. I also ordered half dozen boiled shrimp and half dozen raw oyster combo. Oysters came out quickly and were great. Although I have never eaten oysters with a regular sized fork. That wasn’t a big deal. When he set them down, he said your shrimp will be out in a moment. Later he came back and he said the kitchen said five more minutes on your shrimp. A little bit later, he came back to my table looking sheepish and said I know before that they said five minutes, but now they’re saying seven minutes. When he finally brought my shrimp out, they were on a white oval plate with ice on top of them. The server said they were still hot so I put ice on them. I am glad that he did because the shrimp were to the point of being overcooked. The shells were extremely hard to get off and the shrimp had not been deveined. The only reason I might consider coming back here is for the oysters And that’s only if I cannot find them too expensive. The server did take the gumbo off of my bill. I do have some grace because they are still in their soft opening phase and I did let him know about the shrimp being overcooked. But I have an aversion to eating shrimp poop that’s...
Read moreHonestly, the food was fantastic but the service was lacking. The only downside to the food was my daughter's chicken nuggets that were definitely from Costco. The oysters were on point, as well as the gumbo and tom kha gai.
As for service, I was late to the table due to a work call and joined after my wife and daughter had ordered. The server didn't acknowledge me or ask if I wanted to order anything and left. The gumbo came out quickly, but 15 mins later nothing else had and we hadn't seen our server again. When we did see her again my wife asked about the oysters and the server told us she hadn't put the order in because she was waiting on the Thai soup. The oysters came out quickly after that and they were great. Her 3rd time visiting the table, to drop the nuggets, she finally asked me if I'd like anything. I would have ordered a drink or two if she'd asked earlier, but at that point had decided to leave due to the service.
Also, the place felt very minimalist, clinical almost. Put some decorations up! My wife was watching one of their TVs showing their dishes and saw one she wanted to order but was told the dish never existed; it was something they were toying around with and took photos of, but never made it to the menu. Don't advertise food you don't have!
Long story short, we will definitely be back because the food was that good! Having been in the industry for almost 2 decades I understand the difficulties in training/staffing, especially on a slow night like Tuesday. I think the servers (and hostess) just need a little coaching on hospitality and the importance of...
